Since anyone can operate under the name "Anonymous" and claim to be affiliated with the "group" ( which has no such thing as affiliation ), I would seriously be hesitant to run this operating system without clearly understanding it..

Quite honestly, the FBI or CIA could write an OS, anonymously post it online and claim they are "Anonymous" .. so could the credit card thief down the street looking for a gateway into your home network =) ..

Also be aware that you can currently try out Anonymous' social network anonplus if you visit anonplus.com and are willing to install some odds and ends. I'm doing it now.

Why?

Why not? That's why.

Some of you try too hard. There are numerous hacker distro's. Backtrack is the obvious one and similar to this runs Ubuntu. The bottom line is that if you're smart enough to understand the tools you wouldn't fear them. All the spooky talk of government infiltration is hollywood banter.

the whole of it reminds me of this guy

sure. no problem. will do.

I iZ anonymous.
I iZ legion
I iZ a wayward seagull outside a Burger King drive-thru

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
it does seem to be based upon open-source code so hopefully that will help to reveal any 'tracking' or 'malfeasance' within.
Still ...
O.S. really doesn't matter, no matter, it's all 1s and 0s anyway. with anything short of PGP type/level encryption being but mere child's play.
Who would download an OS developed by hackers? ...
Honestly, anyone who has downloaded Linux, BSD-Unix, or any OS for that matter.
And who came up with "Anonymous-OS"?
They could've at least been a little creative / clever.
"Anonym-OS" sounds better to me.
It’s interesting to note that DuckDuckGo appears to be the default search engine for the OS. It’s definitely a relevant choice, but I wouldn’t have ever thought it the official search engine for Anonymous.
I was crying when I read that...
I'm going to duck duck goose
I say its a free os with some eye candy that they hope you down load and install on your virtual network so they can have something like tinyos crawl through your system.
Just download ubuntu and become part of the ubuntu community and learn the in an outs of security yourself you'll be much better off then worrying about their little supposed customization of ubuntu..
