Whether they act as claimed still doesn't take away from the fact that they are much cheaper than disposable batteries. The charger used also affects
their lifetime, hence why I got the slow charger that cuts out when charging is complete. Fast chargers put more strain on the batteries and hence
they have a shorter lifespan. It takes 12 hours to charge them from empty and it is better (apparently) to completely exhaust the charge before
recharging.
Duracell (disposable) cost 6 or 7 euros for 4 here in the local supermarket. 4 Eneloops (AA) cost 7.95 online.
I would say you are a thief of your
own wallet if you use disposables today. Not to mention they don't want you putting dead batteries in the regular garbage bin here. It's classed as
chemical waste and should be disposed of separately/safely.
