Iraq militia stone youths to death for "emo" style

www.reuters.com

"I saw them a couple weeks ago ... a bunch of girls, high-school aged, walking together, dressed in black. They had long black eye makeup and bracelets with skulls and chains on their handbags with skulls," said Abdullah, 31. "If they are close friends who have something in common, that's all right. If other things we hear about them are true, like sucking each other's blood or worshipping the devil, that is not accepted in our society. But I think this is just a trend to imitate the West."

This has finally been confirmed by the international community. Several humanitarian agencies including Human Rights Watch are sending people to the region to investigate further. If you have additional information please provide it via this thread. Hopefully with enough attention given to this tragedy, future situations such as these can be minimized.

Isn't it great that we exported freedom to Iraq?

I'm convinced that the arab spring is nothing more than western backed regime change.

These people are not educated, and therefore can never be free.

If our goal in the arab world is freedom we should be building schools, not bombing them.

It's hilarious. The only reason Americans do it is because they want to express the wild emotions of their adolescence...the unfairness of life, the irrational mood swings, the reconciliation of their mind with their soul as they grow up. I thought that sort of expression was strictly prohibited over there.

That explains the stoning.

So...this is going well then.

Seems the military over in Iraq have not forgotten their training then...damn apes.
I am too angry at this news to post any coherent thoughts that doesn't involve the rampant murdering of all people over the age of say, 30 over there to flush out this mindset of murdering for differences...hows that for irony

Really, OP? You keep posting these threads trying to get us fired up over this.....for WHAT? What are WE supposed to do about it in America? We just spent almost a decade over there ALLEGEDLY trying to free their population from this kind of thing. Don't you understand that if they aren't killing their citizens for being emo or goth, or gay, or for being alleged "vampires," they'll find some other reason to kill people? Seems there aren't many things that the Islamic religion DOES condone.

How about this.....now that the mighty U.S. has brought "democracy" to that region, I'm assuming that means citizens are free to take their families to another area, right? Why don't people start taking responsibility for their own lives over there? We have senseless murders occurring every day in this country. My city is becoming a war zone. Have you taken a gander lately at what our own government has been doing? Should we expect a foreign country to come over here and give us "humanitarian aide" or "military intervention?"

Cry me a friggin' river over the emos and the goths in Iraq.

That part of the world isn't exactly tolerant of people who are "different".

This isn't a surprise in the least. Why would anyone be surprised about this?

This is pure envy.

I know you envy the Iraqis cause they get to stone their emos and you cant! And we all know that emos deserve some kind of physical punishment

That is horrid IMO.
To kill someone just because of how they dress..
It reminds me of a case in the UK a year or so back when two "goths" were beaten to death by a gang of thugs for the same reason-they dressed differently.
That was horrid as well.

Of course it's horrid. It's no less horrid than people being killed because they are gay. But the thing is, why does it become the U.S.'s responsibility to do something about it?

That's my problem with these threads. This is the second thread on this topic that the OP has posted in two days.

They are known for cutting themselves. I'm surprised they aren't impervious to the pain of stoning.

Like Messenger - Like Militia. Whether it happened in Iraq or the back seat of a cab here in the States... It just goes to showcase murderous intentions along with blatant ignorance.

We don't do anything... If I'm one of those girl's fathers, brothers, or uncles, that's a different story. But first, they have to know the difference between what's right and brainwashing.

we all know how they feel about gay people in that part of the world. you're asking for a stoning if you're dressing "emo" over there. gay people call emo gay.

They also stab out a man's eyes for performing street music. I heard his songs... He wasn't half bad!

I am probably going to get in trouble for this , but Islam is becoming more filth in my eyes. I cant stand it , i am beginning to hate the Muslim religion so much because of incidents like this ; they are so wide-spread.

Bullying is one thing , killing them in the name of a disgusting god , Allah or Muhammad ( i hear Muhammad's name more than Allah's) , is another. This is the 21st century for crying out loud.
