Seabag let them find out for them selves. This is a religious war fought by an extremist element of a Tyrant Religion. The people who dont see what you are saying arroganly sit in their easy chairs and say to them selves nope I'm not dying for that or that or that. Let's talk about John Hagee....I wouldn't call him your "basic evangelical preacher". He comes from a pentacostal background. His church in San Antonio I beleive is technically non-denominational, but follows his pentacostal background which heavily influences it. While evangelical (and fundamentalist, there is a difference between the two). Pentacostal only comprise a small percentage of the Protestant denominations. To say all Christians agree with him would be to say that all muslims are terrorists, which you are fond of not saying.....

The video is somewhat out of context as it is part of a greater sermon series regarding the run up to the "tribulation period" as interpreted by a theological concept called dispensationalism. One would need to be versed in that to fully put the video in context.

That all being said, he isn't far off. Radical elements of Islam DO want Isreal destroyed, and they HAVE caused massive problems in Europe. While the average muslim may in fact be peaceful, the hardliners are running the show, and what he is stating is essentially what the hardliners want to do.

Despite anything that Isreal, NATO,the US, the TPTB, the NWO or any other entity may being doing wrong in regards to the middle east i(n regards to oil and minerals or its handling of the Palestinian situation); it seems the radical Islamic threat is ignored, lost, or not well understood by many on ATS. There is a significant, powerful and controlling element in Islam, that wants Islam spread, by force, across the globe, instituting Sharia leaving the non muslims in the grave. Again I am not defending (or denouncing) the things doen by Isreal and the West. I am just saying that

Yes, Christians want to spread the word of Christ across the globe, but they don't actively kill anybody over it, at least since the Crusades (despite the "most of the US military is Christian" comments) and the Western governments are decidely secular, and that too is an affront to radical Islam. One must remember that Christianity in the west had a "reformation" which brought it out of the dark ages. Islam has not had this, and is still operating like it's 800AD.

The fact is that liberal democracy (whatever we actually have of it) can accept both Christianity and Islam under it's freedoms of belief and expression, but Islam (at least the radicals running the show) CANNOT accept Liberal Democracy. It is a clash of civilizations, and at some point it may affect everyone,and in that point John Hagee is exactly right.

In another thread concerning the topic of zionism, I had a very educational discussion with a poster that stated he was a follower of Islam.
I asked some very frank questions and he responded in kind.
Our discussion centered around the 12th Imam and prophesy which described, to the followers of Islam, that they would rule the world and that the rest of us either had to join Islam or die.
(forgive me, I am paraphrasing)
He went on to describe though, that no time was described for this, we could have peace (until the 12th Imam) and all was well.

I left it at that. I thanked the poster for being candid and thought about it.

I am reminded of the Sword of Damocles. A sabre, held by a hair, that could drop at any time.

This is how I see Islam.. Not for the violence of extremists now, but for the potential greater violence that Islam has the potential to be.

Just my 2 cents.
