Are you noticing any effects from todays SOLAR STORM? GPS Issues? Electrical Problems? ---- Share

The phone was most likely set to automatic and the cell tower he was connected to was off on the time. I saw this a lot when I did troubleshooting for certain cell based devices. When he got to his work, the cell tower in taht area had the correct time.

Not sure. Have taken the elevator 40 stories down and locked down the bunker door.

I was wondering if it might have something to do with the cell tower but wasn't sure. Since nobody else is reporting any GPS issues, that is most likely what it is. Thanks for sharing!

Hmmm....

Now my phone is showing 11:46 when it is 10:46. And I looked at it when he called me, and it was correct at that time. I too have Virgin Mobile and I am at work right now, about 2 miles from my brothers house.

Yeah, it can be annoying when the cell tower is off, and the software requires it to be correct or things won't work. Sometimes I would have very irate customers. At least until we get the info for which tower and have someone fix it. Its crazy how troublesome the wrong date and time can be.

Just noticed the GPS on my phone won't connect. Even a shutdown restart of the phone isn't helping. At least I don't need to connect to GPS today.

I just checked my co-workers phone and hers is an hour off too.


She has Sprint as a carrier and now that I think about it my Virgin Mobile phone uses Sprint as a carrier.


Another co-worker just told me that her friends phone was off too and she shut it off and restarted it and now it is correct. She said that because Daylight savings time is this weekend that is why we are having problems.. I don't know about that.. I'm more apt to believe the local tower is out... or GPS issues.. but I'm leaning toward local tower.. since nobody else on this forum is reporting issues.

My Directv was freezing up last night-all channels..
And the night before, ESPN HD went out...

I noticed something strange

I just restarted my phone and it's still an hour off. Although the texts that I recieve have the correct time.

My co-worker restarted hers and it is now correct. strange.

My phone is correct now, again.

I just checked it, didn't turn it off and on again or anything.

If anyone else is having this issues, please let us know.

My location is 29.25N latitude.

GPS (magellan) works fine, sat tv normal.

I'm in Texas, haven't really noticed anything significantly different. There does seem to be more birds out than usual and they have been chirping all morning. For the past two days I've been hearing a lot planes or jets fly over. We have two air force bases here in San Antonio, one is about 10 miles from our house. I usually only hear them fly over a few times a day but it's been non-stop for the past two days. Not sure if that has anything to do with what is going on or what is to come, just odd and out of the ordinary.

Quick question: What we are experiencing today is from the first solar flare earlier this week or both of them combined? I'm sure somebody has already covered this somewhere but I may have overlooked it.

Everything is working just fine here in Mississippi. But I have talked to three people this morning that "just don't feel good." No clue if it's related, but one person I know is having severe vertigo and nausea, and her usual medication is having no effect.

That is what one of my co-workers suggested.

I just went and got lunch in the caffeteria and the girl at the register said her phone is an hour off too.. she also has Sprint.

Good question, I think it is just from the first one, but I am not for sure.

No this is the second one. the first M class flare caused minor storm the other day. This Larger X5.4 is what is happening now but it struck weaker then expected and at the moment is only comparable to the 5kp mild storm of the previous flare.

Does anybody know why there are so many Air Force planes or jets flying today? As I stated in my previous post, I live about 10 miles from one of the Air Force bases here in San Antonio. I have heard them all day for the past two days, it is constant. I usually only hear a few a day so this is very odd and has me wondering what it is all about. I'm a new member with less than 20 posts so I can't start a new thread, thought I would go ahead and ask on this one since I brought it up in my previous post.
