Another commly reported race is the Preying Mantis looking beings(Insectilians).

as arnie would say:

you are one ugly mf.

those would scare me....

but I think I would use my starship troopers training to battle them.

There are loads of ways to approach this question, you could ask yourself how many planets there are and then you would maybe get your type of specie. Or you could just get a text book on aliens and there would be plent of different alien pictures, text about aliens in there.
