G8 Summit Moved From Chicago: Protesters Say They Will Still Come For NATO

CHICAGO — Protesters who've been planning for months to converge on Chicago for a pair of important world meetings this spring say they have a message: No G-8? No problem.

The decision by the White House to move the Group of 8 economic summit to Camp David while the NATO summit remains in Chicago might have split the reasons to protest. But it won't diminish the number of people – tens of thousands, by some estimates – who plan to come to Chicago for a rally and march to protest everything from war to poverty, said Andy Thayer, a leader of the Chicago Coalition Against War and Racis

Chicago is a horrible corrupt city. Some of the things that were done under hte Daley dynasty reign should have been unconstitutional. This includes, but isn't limited to Daley's brothers monopolizing the construction industry (Walsh), the trading of political votes for amnesty immigrants (some 4 million), not allowing KFC corporation to fix the potholes (because the city was broke and still refuses road maintenance because they are broke), the Public Place of Amusement Ordinance that was enacted to rid most places of minority patronage of entertainment before the Olympic bid, and is now another law on the long list of laws that have not just crippled, but killed nightlife. The fact of the matter is, like the Olympics, with a body count of 5-7 REPORTED bodies a day, and a absentee scared PD, they moved it.

I have misgivings whenever protestors confront such gatherings... too many opportunities for infiltration by agent provocateurs ...

Let's hope this time we don't see violence perpetrated for the sake of 'marketing.'

that's a naive hope...you will see people being dragged away to the paddy wagon to a chorus of cheering onlookers and others throwing things at officers who will do an excellent job responding to trouble makers.

all in all, it will be a fantastic example at how law enforcement and municipal authorities manage the people's right to voice their opinions...their unpopular, nonsensical opinions.

Well make no mistake, CPD here will kill you in an instant.
