WASHINGTON -- On Tuesday night, progressives confronted the unimaginable: Congress without Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio). The eight-term congressman lost his primary election for Ohio's newly created 9th district to Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio).

The loss also deprives the nation of a general election contest between two national polarizing figures, as one of the candidates in the district's GOP primary was Joe Wurzelbacher -- better known as "Joe the Plumber."

Kucinich is gone! This is awesome. Joe "The plumber" Wurzelbacher vs Marcy Kaptur in November....should be a pickup in the House for the GOP!!!!

Why would this be a bad thing? Dennis was one the few congressman that actually tried to tackle real issues, like impeaching Bush for war crimes. He had his own mind somewhat. This is bad for Ohio.

Great news? The HELL is wrong with you?! Controlled opposition or not, Dennis was the Ron Paul of the left. He actually teamed with Paul to audit the FED and exposed many critical issues to the public. You are a car seller? Maybe there's great truth to the popular notion that car salesmen are not to be trusted!

Yeah this is great news if you like trading one of the few politicians that won't sell out the people he represents, for a failed plumber that makes Sarah Palin look like a genius. Are you in hurry to be shackled to your new corporate masters or what?

The OP saw the word "progressive" in the article he linked and decided to irrationally dislike Dennis due to a label

I live in his former district and Denise lost his way years ago. He liked being the underdog in DC and forgot to fight for his district and his constituents (many unemployed). I will not miss the "Dennis" campaign signs that have been used for the last 3 elections. Kaptur is not much better but at least she focused on her district. Dennis just sought headlines and air time. He'll most likely end up managing a Burger King and his wife will leave him.

I look forward to solid race against Kaptur in November. This region could use a major boost!!!!

Poor Dennis always a day late and a dollar short...
