The temperature in Dallas, TX has dropped over 20 degrees in the last 30 minutes. I went out for lunch, and it was warm/humid 73f. When I came out of the restaurant, it was 49 degrees. The rain started downpouring on the way home, and the wind has changed direction. I noticed the flags on the wayout to luch with South winds, coming home, the wind was from the Northwest.
I think this is just the front edge.
Updated @ 18:27 UT The ACE sensor for solar wind speed is not functioning at this time, as it shut its self down into safe mode when the proton density got too high. We are now looking to SOHO for solar wind speeds.

Bz is maxing out North, is that going to be bad or not?

TextThe Bz component of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) has been pointing mostly to the north and this is keeping the geomagnetic storm at minor levels thus far. Should the Bz begin to point south for long durations, this may help intensify the storm.
