Found this out through Coast to Coast AM. Here is one of the quotes I found within the story "The skin gets extremely hot, and people can't stand the pain, so they have to move - and move in the way we want them to," said Col Wade Hall of the Office of Force Transformation.

Wow that seems like it's a good weapon to stop riots. Deos it have any logn term side affects because of the microwave rays.?

According to what the news article said there is no long-term effects. But i wonder..................

this seems rather inhumane imo. why dont they just spray boiling hot water out of a fire hose. i also have a rather troubling theory regarding these weapons. ever here of Robert Frost? the man worked at area 51, came down with a bizaar condition where he said his skin would burn, and would flake off. he said it was escrutiating pain and over time the condition gradualy got worse and worse, more skin flaking off. he eventualy died. his attorneys enquiry into the matter resulted in some lame bum excuse of chemicals being burned just outside of the facility, and the winds blowing it into the workers vicinity. totaly lame excuse, it is obvious they were testing alien weaponry on the man, or he must have pissed off our little zetan friends. either way the condition seemed horrendous, and it accuratly describes the sensation these microwave-weapons produce. it all sounds too frightening. what happens when you super charge the capabilitie of the weapon, it probably wont take a genuis how to configure the energy out put. then what? just start melting people away? madness....

It seems like it would be better then shooting people with projectiles, if it works like they say. There's always a big if I guess. Being shot with a beam for a few seconds is a lot different then being exposed to the stuff for several years.

Yeah, I'd rather have a sunburn then a hole in the head any day. Hell, somtimes I go on vacation just to get one of them.

They should have used them at New York. I can only imagine. Hordes of hippies scrambling for cover...oh how much satisfaction I'd get from having one of those. It seems like it'd be really fun. And as far as I know, the Geneva Convention doesn't have any rule against changing the temperature to disperse angry rioters.

Melting people away? Sounds like something Yuri would do. Maybe the Chinese or Muslims, but not the U.S.

Ok, if it changes heats the moisture in the skin what does it do to the eyeball? Ouch.

Oh and Shadowtrooper90,

I'd have liked to see this used in New York too, except the other way around. I wonder if they could make it work on an entire building. The smell of cooking PIG fat coming from the Republican Convention would have been overwhemling. Ha...that'd be soooo not kosher...

Personally, If yer gonna use microwaves on people, just shoot them. "less" cruel, cheaper. No fancy tech and immediate results. I don't think the Geneva Convention would smile on such a device. Ick.

I was talking to a friend who is in the Navy and he says they have been using this type of weapon for years. And then I asked where and how, then all of sudden we got disconnected. So ever since then I have not been able to get a hold of - when in the past I just call his cell and there he was or he would call back soon. F!$kin miltary big brother is ALWAYS watching.

Even short term exposure damages the epidermal layer of the
body (the skin) by killing cells. The eyes are especially
sensitive and exposure to the intensity of microwaves used in
the device will cause cataracts and destroy vision. In the hands
of criminals devices like this but much higher intensity and
more tightly focused, easily made by anyone who has studied
electronic technology, using easily available electronic
components, can kill within seconds any person the beam is
focused on. An energy weapon, be it a backpack size chemical
oxygen iodine laser, the focused microwave output of a cavity
combining the power output of many microwave oven
magnetron tubes, or a compressed air powered ultra low
frequency sound projector, can be lethal if that is the purpose.

The "tin foil hat" may no longer be a joke. The microwave beam
is reflected easily by any electrically conductive surface. Thus to
be effective the "rioters" would need to be prohibited from wearing
conductive jump suits, gloves, and head masks, or from carrying
shields they could hold between themselves and the beam source.
Expect to see laws put into effect to prevent people from defending
themselves from microwave weapons. Wear a tin hat.. go to jail.

The weapon use WILL be excessive. Recall the recent articles on
"rioters" in this country held to the ground by police, with bound
arms and legs, their eyes held open and pepper spray injected
directly into their eyes. When (not if) the microwave gun is applied
in like manner in any police state, the result will be blindness,
or if the weapon held to the ears, deafness from the resulting
destroyed inner ear, or to the head, impaired mental function from
destroyed brain tissue.

Okay have you ever seen someone fighting no one?.... or rallying against no one? what would we all do if there were no authorities.. (I'm talking about sane people here, who are decent and genuinely believe in God.
