For many what was seen at Roswell cast a shadow the length of a lifetime. And for the two children who innocently happened on strange things fallen from the sky in 1947 that did not belong, their lifetimes were short. It is telling that the ‘first-on-the-scene’ witnesses to the unearthly crash materials were the ones who would say the very least. They were troubled by secrets that were held in their hearts and to their graves. The original and untainted witnesses were ranch manager Mac Brazel and two New Mexico boys, Dee Proctor and Vernon Brazel.

But suffer the children. And these two indeed suffered. Theirs is a story of silence and of suicide. It is a tortured tale of drink, divorce and dying young. It is an incredible account of stolen alien metal and of frightening threats to juveniles. And the brief but stunning confession of one of these Roswell child witnesses is related on the internet for the first time ever, here and now:

The Ranch Man's Son: Vern Brazel

Mac Brazel managed a ranch that was owned by twin brothers H.S. “Henry” Foster and J.B. “Jasper” Foster. Vernon was Mac’s son. Vern was 8 years old in 1947. Vernon is very rarely mentioned in the Roswell UFO crash saga. In fact, Vern is only mentioned once (and fleetingly) in only one edition of one of Roswell’s two newspapers at the time and in none of the newspapers in the country that carried the story. Only the Roswell Daily Record’s July 9th 1947 issue mentions the ranch man’s son and states in part: “Brazel related…that he and his 8 year old son came across the large area of wreckage…". That is all that has ever been written about Vernon Brazel. And no one ever got to talk to him because he left New Mexico as soon as he legally could
.

A Boy Named Dee

Dee was known to have been at the crash site with Mac at the time of its first discovery. It is very telling that Mac did not tell reporters that Dee was there. He was clearly protecting the boy. Everyone did, including Dee’s mother, Loretta and father, Floyd. In fact it would never have been known that Dee was even at the crash at all had not researchers Kevin Randle and Don Schmitt been informed that the boy was there by Proctor friends and neighbors, including Tommy Tyree. Loretta and her late husband Floyd never offered that Dee was there at the crash site with Mac and Vern (despite prior interviews with researchers.) She only admitted to Dee being at the site when it was clear that she could not deny it.

Dee was with Brazel when he first discovered the debris field. But he was also with Brazel, he told his mother Loretta, when he discovered “something else” at another site 2-1/2 miles to the east that left him deeply traumatized for the rest of his life. He never told her exactly what he saw there but he did take her to the location in 1994 saying, "Here is where Mack found something else."

Now, I admit I am not an expert on Roswell and I hope some ATSers can make sense of this. I never heard of these two people or about them and Roswell. Anyone?

Is this B.S.? Pretty hard to validate their claims/statements etc. I don't know. I want to believe but.....

My big question is WHY NOW?

Lastly, for the ones who will complain about this. I feel all info has to be put out and then discussed/validated.

Interesting ...

I too am no expert when it comes to the Roswell story either but I have had a strong desire to go back and look at it again recently. A couple of weeks ago another odd post caught my eye and it led me to a couple of books that should be arriving in the mail shortly.

Good find Anon

Why now? The gov guys that were in charge at the time are dieing due to old age. Disclosure will happen whether these people want it to happen or not. I'm sure sometime in the future there will be more alien sightings and those that covered up the alien presence are not wanting their egos bruised. It will happen eventually, and perhaps slowly, but there is nothing, absolutely nothing that "those in power" can do to stop it. So, they try the next best thing, slowly leak things here and there and gauge public opinion. One thing that they are finding out, is that most of the "normal humans" are not afraid of the aliens, only those in power, because their "perch on the pile" is threatened.

Good thread Anon. I've never heard or Dee or Vern either. However, we are in the same boat as far as being Roswell experts. I'm not by any means. I'm excited about reading the full article you linked.
It is odd that we don't hear about these two boys until recently. It makes sense though. If my children and I witnessed something like that, I wouldn't want it to be known that they were there. MIB's apparently don't care if you're adult or juvenile. I'm going to search off and on to day whilst working in between. S&F Keep up the good work.

Right you are. Every one I know that believes is, and has been for a long time, ready for disclosure. Its the 'High Ups' that feel threatened by any disclosure, but, as you said, They can't hold out for ever. At least I hope they can't.

Excellent post and question. Why now? ... and also, who has anything to gain from this?

Anyone and everyone that's a name in the 'research' field of UFO phenomenon has poked a finger, a stick, or even arms up to the pits into the Roswell story, and anyone who has, is always eager to uncover new information.

If this is a hoax/fabrication, I suspect this story is a lead for another shoe yet to drop where a diary or some other telling 'evidence' to milk more out of the story is found.

I apologize if this rationale is too skeptical, but, as much bunk as there is that goes on in this field, it seems the most rational approach to approach anything regarding UFOs, especially something as well sifted as Roswell is to do so with a fair amount of interested, but doubtful "o'rly?"

To me..... these people and their stories are what make Roswell believable and very real.

Is this B.S.? Pretty hard to validate their claims/statements etc. I don't know. I want to believe but..... My big question is WHY NOW?

From all that I have read on Roswell, no, their stories are not BS.

These people have been threatened their entire lives since the time the event happened.

Some of them have told their stories to individuals but not really in a public forum. So if they do so now ....it's because they are about to die.

Vern was 8 years old in 47 .... that puts him at about 74 years old today...

I sure as hell wouldn't die without lifting that weight of my conscience.

Well what could they lose from telling their story? And all that ridicule from sceptics? Life wouldn't be a breeze by admitting to discovering the "real" debris from Roswell in '47.

Wow, great find. A lot more to the story that I didn't know.

So the crash actually occurred several days prior to everyone being made known.

That sure does add some doubt as to the bodies of aliens being retrieved. I would believe Rot/Heat, bugs, animals etc would have done some major damage to any bodies.

And notice Dee isn't mentioned.

That is assuming that alien bodies even rot...

Or if our insect/wild life would find them appealing.

Well, we'll see what the new Roswell "Dream Team" can come up with, if anything....
Not too big on Bragalia being on it after his craziness regarding Soccorro, but all opinions should be looked at....

Wasn't it rumored that there was 1 alien alive from the crash that was walking in the opposite direction of the crash afterwards?? I remember watching someone from the UFO conference talking about that.....

Maybe what the one witness found, a dead alien body 2 and a half miles away??

It doesn't matter, there is nothing new in the article. It says that Dee was a witness, and that he saw something that disturbed him for the rest of his life (although it also says he never disclosed anything about it, so I don't know how they think they know he was "disturbed" by it since they didn't even know what "it" was). He was an alcoholic which they attribute to his way of dealing with this dark secret, but that is just pure conjecture since they don't even know if he really did know anything, what it was or how he dealt with it. He is dead now, so whatever secret or secrets he may have harbored went with him to the grave. So unfortunately there is nothing disclosed in the article that adds anything to the existing knowledge-base regarding Roswell.

Well, you say nothing new etc. Maybe not to you.

But, I dare say the whole "few weeks before it was told to authorities etc" is new to about 99% of the other people in the room.

To me, it puts a whole new light on it. A new angle.

Don Schmidt, Tom Carey, Kevin Randall, Chris Rutkowski, Anthony Bragalia, and possibly more. All joining forces to reinvestigate everything from Roswell. Really dont know how theyll find anything new, or reach any definitive conclusions. But who knows...
