Stonecutters?

I was wondering if anyone know anything about them? Are they part of or even affiliated with the Masons? What are they all about?

A few weeks ago I thought I remember somebody saying something about the Stonecutters, but I did a search and couldnt find anything

Wernt stone cutters the ones who made the masons? they were a group of real masons who made the society

Werent the stonecutters the ones on the simpsons or was that something else?

Stonecutters is a fictional organization, and was used on the sitcom "The Simpsons" to spoof Freemasonry.
In the episode, Homer joins the Ancient Mystic Order of Stonecutters so that he can get a better parking place at work. But it's soon discovered that he has fulfilled an ancient Stonecutters prophecy, and that he is the "chosen one", and thus becomes head of the order. He redirects the fraternity's activities to charity, which annoys the other members, who just want to sit around the lodge and drink beer...so they all resign, and form the Ancient Mystical Order of No-Homers.

So the stonecutters are just a fictious orginazation?


I did a little searching and found this page stating that there is a union that was founded in 1853, but dates back to the masons lodges of the middle ages.

The site even claims that they are the ones responsible for things like the 8 hr work day etc..???
