I am a weather nerd. I love weather. All kinds.
This pic was taken by me near Chamberlain, SD in 2005. This shelf cloud was the leading edge of a big line of thunderstorms. The thunderstorms
started out as individual
supercells which converged into a massive
line of thunderstorms. We were trying to keep ahead of it driving east on Interstate 90. It finally caught up to us. Wow.
I was trying to upload a bigger picture of this but for some reason all that posts is this small version.
This next picture was taken near North Platte, NE in 2006 I think. This is one side a giant supercell. My camera was not that good so the picture
doesn't do it justice. You can see the shelf cloud at the edge.
I have many more of these types of pics. I'm having some trouble uploading them.
Love all the other ones in this thread!!
