Thanks to the help and support of a few members, I decided I am going to give ubuntu another shot, they have a really nice wiki, and it has been 2 years I think since I last tried it. Gonna take me some time to prepare and backup my HD though lmao.

Your making a wise move, most importantly give your self a chance to get to know the software.

There is always a way to get what you need with Linux. So don't give up. set your self 2 or 3 months trialling
and at the end of that then make a decision whether it is for you or not.

I love it , and at one point I hated it with a passion. so..............

actually there were three of them.. followed me into 7/11.. they basically told me to shutup.. I really wasnt concerned with looking in their eyes..

It's been moved to the proper forum.

Initially I considered the hoax forum because of all the misinformation and uncertainty being tossed about.

Can I just clarify what is NOT going on here!!!

There is NO data mining going on at ATS.

There are a few ad cookies from reputable ad servers
and the rest are links to where you have already been, and
what is on your computer from previous surfing.



As you can see nothing to worry about signing on to
ATS home page.

I use LInux and Windows and this screen shot is from my windows Install.

So like I said ATS is a clean site with a little advertising. Nothing bad here.

Umm..i think your kinda lost focus or have been reading some misinformation, this site just as the hundreds of millions of sites out there are doing the same thing. There isn't anything sinister about trying to increase your revenue.

I would also add, that there are threads deep within ats that have been posted in the past that would make this thread seem like "how to use MS WORD" , having said that, i would simply kick back and enjoy the site and the people within.

On a side note, there are some seriously savvy I.T. guys that hang around ats and they do become active when something is worth their time within a particular thread, but they aren't that visible some say, they wear black top hats and some say they wear white top hats, me, i say its time to get the cheque book out.
