Easy there Newt jr. Our foreign policy has purdy much sucked for oh lets see the past 25yrs. We don't need base'es or to invade foreign country's that have not threatened the us main land. And dont give me that same old song and dance "oh Al-queda bombed" or muslin extremist did it. What has Iran done? yea thats right nothing to the western world. Hey if they want nukes fine let them. Why limit the invasion from only Iraq? Look and see that we could not only invade from the west and Iraq, but also from Afghanistan to the north east and with a couple of Marine Amphibious Units from the Gulf... a three pronged attack... plus an awesome Israeli-Saudi-US and British led NATO air offensive.

And in return for the Brits helping the US, we could back them up down in the Falklands against Argentina and eventually their ally Venezuala.

And then when the Russkies move south to back up the Iranians and Syrians... we bounce back over to Israel.

Then off to N Korea- S Korea and the Pusan Penninsula... maybe we could get Spinal Tap to tour with us?

First, Attacking Iran is not in Americas interest.

Second,America had 100k+ troops in two wars,sitting at Irans border.Not to mention coalition forces also. If America was going to attack,they would have done so then.Logistically,and financially this isn't good.

Third,the people of Iran need to take care of their own government,as Americans need to do the same at home.

Wow OP you're an idiot for so many reasons. I'm in the military and I can give you a better idea of how it could go down MILITARILY. Regardless of how it STARTS or what the political crap is, the US would react by:

Sending fighters from the Deid, Dhafra, etc., to deal with Iranian fighters. This will probably be fought exclusively over the gulf. This will probably last a few days, with OCA attacks against Iran's coastal SAMs (probably SA-2s, 5s, and their homegrown SA-20 copy). Then the following weeks would be air attacks over Iranian soil. The only ground forces we'd use are special forces. No invasion.

Trust me, the USAF at least sees Iran as a "fun" war where we'd get to try out new tactics and equipment against a competent IADS, without taking horrible losses. China is the one we worry about...
