Poor area...
Not tornado alley

Never has this happened here before...

If these areas rebuild it will be a miracle...

Most cant afford insurance...

I know when i wake up on a typical day a tornado is the farthest thing on my mind...

although I have a BIG problem with dutchsinse and his (usually bogus) videos I would like to throw a shout out to him because he was right on with this! I happened across a video of his last night that WARNED people of the area and showed the 50+ tornado warnings. I hope his awareness and warning of this horrific weather helped some people spread the word and get to safety in time.

He's also projecting tornadoes in New York City, in the same video... take it as you like.

My husband and I are otr truckers on a dedicated route that sees us spending most of our time in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana. For the first time in a month we were dispatched to Chicago yesterday morning, instead of our normal southern route. We still hit some heavy wind that shut us down, but after I heard about those tornadoes I had to thank my lucky stars. My thoughts amd prayers go out to all those whose lives have been impacted by yesterday's Hellish, freaky weather. Scary stuff out there. Mercy!

Funny how everyone else in the US is living it rich and safe except for those that are surrounded by feisty and rough natural disasters. It seems like people there are taking the beating from what the US is committing in foreign countries and in the US. I would say that you should move out of there, I mean move out of the US.
May Allah guide you to the straight path.

I can't believe you got a star for this repulsive comment.

Where are you at in So California that you got snow? I'm from So Cal also and we had a pretty good rain last Monday but no snow to report from LA county to the bottom of Riverside County...

My dad's side of the family lives around Louisville, i just called my dad and he says theyre all fine.

Yeah, Louisville was spared (I live here). I am concerned about friends and family in Southern Indiana and other parts of KY though. I'm concerned when I hear about deaths and injuries even if I don't know 'em.

We have lots of people in this area who live in Indiana but work in Louisville and vice versa.

This is so tragic and sad, I am sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers are with you, your family and friends and all those in the affected area.

The scenes on the news here in CA are atrocious. It looks like a warzone over there. I was wondering myself if these areas are prone to tornados and I see by some of your comments above that they are not. I just watched a weather report here that is showing possible tornados in Northern Florida. FLORIDA? This is so bizarre...

I hope FEMA is in place to help these communities out... I believe I saw a thread here a few weeks back posted by a man saying that his FEMA friends were going out to these areas... glad to hear they are there to help but interesting nonetheless...

I was north of there, heading out to my Uncle's cabin for the weekend, in West Union, Oh. My aunt went out there ahead of us, to get dinner started, and basically ran into the back of a small tornado. She watched the tornado cross the road in front of her, and travel down the road towards the cabin. It took down 40-50 cedar trees, and took one 2 story cabin with it.... Found out later that the house that got hit, was the only one without insurance on it... The guy saw it coming and hid in his crawlspace, the tornado wiped the house out. I have some pictures of the damaged trees, but it was so dark, they aren't really worth posting

They said the tornado was a quarter to half a mile wide

If this is an estimate of size in the sky it was huge, but If this was the size of the path it cut on the ground, it was Unnaturally Huge.

I believe they were referring to the tornado on the ground, IIRC. On the local TV station, Wave 3 in Louisville, they estimated this from radar pics.

Yeah this entire event was unnatural
(as per our prespective on typical weather around here)

I definitely agree. We've had more of a spring than a winter here this year. This winter we've had two tornados in my area before this devastating storm system. A small tornado took out trees, roofs, fences, and landscaping in my neighborhood only a few weeks ago. No one I know has ever seen anything like this here.

Wow, the weather reporter in this video says there were 95 tornados in one day and accordingly is the worst weather day in March in recorded history.

Reports are showing 29 dead throughout 10 states? Can these be actual figures considering how much damage was done?

My heart goes out to the lady in the video who lost her Mom.

If anyone was so inclined to read more into this, perhaps a Biblical symbolism subject, then this may be a prediction like when the towers fell it was a prophecy of economic collapse, so this may say that the Liberties of the West are about to be leveled, or taken, or wiped out, etc. Like many believe that the Christcurch event was saying that the church is being destroyed, which certainly is with all of the scandals. I don't know much about symbolism, but who knows.

I do find all of these tornadoes, like last year at this time with all of the record amount of tornadoes is trying to tell us all something.

Whatever is going on with old Mother Earth, she is in pain and is moaning and groaning, that's for sure.

Strange weather indeed.

Not so strange when you realize the climate is borked.
strange becomes the norm.

I tend to go with science

and..well, anyone whom follows the ministries of climate science knows this is indeed going to be getting much, much worse. no deities required...all written down in the thing called "I accidentally your entire biosphere"
