Senior Israeli officials say Israel would have to act by summer in order to be effective. U.S. officials, wary that an Israeli strike could drive up oil prices and entangle the U.S. in a new Mideast military confrontation during the presidential election season, want to give diplomacy and sanctions more time to work.
WASHINGTON – President Obama's relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been complicated by misunderstandings, diplomatic miscues and occasional differences of opinion.
Obama has angered Israelis and some American Jews with his call to halt settlements in the West Bank. Last time Netanyahu visited Washington, he embarrassed the president by lecturing him about Israel's history in front of the cameras. And at the G-20 summit in November, a hot mic caught Obama and French President Nicolas Sarkozy griping about the Israeli premier.

They have been saying "we must strike soon" for the last 10 years. What's stopping them?

Israel will attack, but through whose controlled airspace is the question.
Iran will retaliate... Israel will play the victim card again..... oh noes, another Jewish holohoax, 6 million dead Jews etc...etc...blah...blah...blah... and they'll then threaten to use nuclear weapons unless the US / UK / Canada and all the other "friends" of Israel don't step in and finish the job. Simple nuclear blackmail.
As luck would have it, we all have large amounts of ships and aircraft sitting parked along Irans land and sea borders, quite by chance, that can be swung into action very quickly.
The real leaders of USofA will choose between these :
1.US will attack Iran while Israel will stay aside and eat missile strikes.
2.Israel will attack Iran while US will wait a little, then hoop in and finish the job, destroying iranian nuclear programm of delaying it for like 20 years.
JERUSALEM — The president of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, told President Obama that he could no longer bear Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, and went on to call Mr. Netanyahu a “liar” in a private conversation overheard by several French journalists last week at the Group of 20 summit meeting in Cannes.
“You are fed up with him, but I have to deal with him even more often than you,” Mr. Obama replied, according to reports that flooded the main Israeli news sites on Tuesday.
The White House denied Netanyahu the red carpet treatment generally afforded to visiting heads of state. The Israeli prime minister and Obama didn’t pose for photos together, and Netanyahu was excluded from dinner with the president Tuesday night.
When Netanyahu wouldn’t agree to concessions, Obama left a meeting with him, though he invited Netanyahu to stay at the White House, talk to Obama advisers and “let me know if there is anything new,” a U.S. congressman who spoke to Netanyahu, told The Times of London. “It was awful,” the congressman said.
One Israeli newspaper called the meeting “a hazing in stages,” conducted in such an adversarial environment that the Israeli delegation eventually left, worried that their White House phone conversations were being bugged. Another Israeli paper wrote that Netanyahu received “the treatment reserved for the president of Equatorial Guinea”.
