I am right on the Tempe Scottsdale boarder and about 20 mins ago there was a huge white flash of light followed about 5 seconds later by a huge explosion. Then my Internet goes out. First I called my provider and it was busy and said they had lost service in the area, so I called the Tempe police dept to see if they knew anything and not a single person in Tempe or Mesa has apparently called in a single report. Please tell me I'm not crazy. If anyone saw this or has called it in I would like to hear from you. Thank you.

It's a clear sky and it came from the ground. That was my first thought too

Could be a transformer.

That's what I thought at first but living in AZ I've seen and heard a lot of transformers explode and this was too deep it almost was like a really low thunder rumble but still really loud

Are you anywhere near the storms - I don't know I'm not American but it sounds like they're having it really bad right now.

I will the scariest thing is I called two police departments and they both said that they didn't receive any reports. Which to me is really odd considering the shear size of the light and the explosion.

Hi there, just had a thought: there are a TON of sci-tech/ computer/weapons/satellite/military r&d places scattered ALL over Tempe, Scottsdale, and especially Chandler (Orbital,Boeing, McDonell-Douglass, Rayethon,TRW, etc.

Maybe a little R&D project failed spectacularly?

That does make a lot of a sense but wouldn't there have still been some calls? The biggest thing that scares me is the police departments that say no one else has called it in. How do u not call in a huge explosion.

Thanks for the link. Good god! Why the hell does DC need a force field from the weather?!
