I'm pretty sure he called Obama the snob.
For the record I know a couple of machinists who went to work right out of High School, apprenticed for 5 years and are making close to $100k a year. Not Bad for someone without a college degree.
Santorum was not taking a dump on college or those attending college. He was attempting to put emphasis on the fact that not everyone is cut out for college and that you can live a good life with a good career without college. Just ask a skilled plumbing contractor the next time he charges you $100 an hour the next time your toilet backs up.

Certainly not like Obama has been spitting on it.

The hilarious thing here:
Santorum attended Pennsylvania State University for his undergraduate studies, serving as chairman of the university's College Republicans chapter and graduating with a Bachelor of Arts with honors in political science in 1980.[29] He then completed a one-year Master of Business Administration program at the University of Pittsburgh's Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, graduating in 1981.
In 1986, Santorum received a law degree (JD) with honors from the Dickinson School of Law.[30]

"President Obama wants everybody in America to go to college. What a snob" Rick Santorum.
Did he say "college is for snobs" as indicated in the headline of this thread?
Yeah. They should be arguing why separation of church and state should be in the constitution rather than argue that it's already in the constitution.

'Separation of church and state' isn't in the constitution.
If you are talking about the First Amendment it reads that the government is prohibited the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion.
ETA .. that being said .. I'm all for SECULAR laws to be the law of the land. That's my personal wish.edit on 2/28/2012 by FlyersFan because: (no reason given)

I hope that everyone who wants to go to college gets the opportunity to, however, college is not for everyone. Some people have dreams that do not involve or need a higher education. I think Santorum is a nut, but I worry when Obama makes this statement.
“And so tonight, I ask every American to commit to at least one year or more of higher education or career training. This can be community college or a four-year school; vocational training or an apprenticeship. But whatever the training may be, every American will need to get more than a high school diploma. And dropping out of high school is no longer an option. It’s not just quitting on yourself, it’s quitting on your country — and this country needs and values the talents of every American.”
