They will have to do this for real this time. Last time they lied about non-violence and allowed ACORN, Union Thugs and Anarchists to take them over. They want my support they have to get rid of that bunch, including the plants from ACORN and the Obama campaign.

99% is quite a claim considering how low their popularity dropped after the craziness and fake protestors. More like 30% I suspect if even that after destroying things like a children's art exhibit, along with the vandalism and violence they keep engaging in.

Before they insult us all by invoking the names of MLK and Gandhi, they need to prove they have separated from the people who they ran with before. Otherwise it's just more lies.

Call me a skeptic, but I think they will return as a part of the Obama campaign and the same old names from ACORN and the Unions will be running the show. I have no reason to believe them this time. They, whoever they are, most certainly sold out once.

ALL are welcome, to try and pick and choose "who can occupy" is a funny notion????????????
and hardly democractic, this 99% spring is because THEY COULDNT CO-OPT OCCUPY

99% is quite a claim considering how low their popularity dropped after the craziness and fake protestors. More like 30% I suspect if even that after destroying things like a children's art exhibit, along with the vandalism and violence they keep engaging in.

if you read more you will realise that the 99% is a slogan and not a LITTERAL percentage,
I THINK YOU ALREADY KNOW THIS,
the acual figaurs are hard to find but i have heard up to 64% of americans support OWS
NO I HAVE ONLY ONLINE POLLS

Before they insult us all by invoking the names of MLK and Gandhi, they need to prove they have separated from the people who they ran with before. Otherwise it's just more lies.

lol man your jadded,
i can and will invoke gandhi and MLK right here and right now
BECAUSE occupy is non violent, and in the spirit of MJK and using the tactics of MLK and Gandhi,
and you are trying to seperate occupy into groups,
that always looks like alterior motives devide and concoquer

Call me a skeptic, but I think they will return as a part of the Obama campaign and the same old names from ACORN and the Unions will be running the show. I have no reason to believe them this time. They, whoever they are, most certainly sold out once.

SKEPTIC you a sceptic

you are fully trying to label the movement with a political stance,
THAT IS SO FUNNY
no leaders
no political parties
no support for either side

HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU HAVE TO HEAR THE SAME THING?

this is outside of politics, stop trying to make it about politics so you can devide and conquer

A teacher could have helped you with this.

I think you need way more than two pills, but that aside, (Grammer excused here) I will ask did you enjoy the bailout and lack of prosecution of the banker criminals? Do you support bankers or are you from the AEU?

When people can intelligently express their ideas and opinions, people listen. Those who can't are ignored. Just trying to help.

Have you ever heard of dyslexia or even brilliant non dyslexics having trouble spelling? You don't have to be mean to disagree with someone.

My opinion, and I am entitled to have one, is that people who fail to use correct punctuation are just too lazy to proof their work or use a word processor to check their work. It is called "courtesy" to use correct grammatical English if one chooses to use it. Dyslexia does not affect one's knowledge of punctuation. Perhaps I should just say "Thank you" for insulting me in that previous post. I believe that is the progressive view now.

Where have you been that last few months? Google and read.

Most of us have been following this all along, so you'll have to do your own research. It's easy enough to find. The old Straw Man of "prove it" does not work except with the inexperienced.

My favorite was the destruction of the children's art exhibit in Oakland. It caused a counter-protest to get them to knock it off and go the hell home. That and the vandalism and the damage they have done to innocent small business owners and workers who they blocked.

The Anarchists need to give up the charade and go home. Occupy does it right this time, I'm on their side. They repeat this nonsense, who cares about them anyway?

As to ACORN and their involvement, use Google. You will find the proof you want. Their office was infiltrated because the people they were paying to protest got upset when they ordered them to lie about being paid.

Whatever real Occupy there was ended many months ago.

Oh I remember the claims, but I don't remember proof. I remember arguing for pages and pages. I never heard about the art exhibit though. Other than that it seems to me like you're the one needing to go back and google, and catch the other side of the story. You know from the people that were there. You are seriously misinformed as is typical here on this subject, so take your own advice.

well i would say the occupation part of occupy was a resounding success,
in my country we had a small occupy protest in about four locations around the place,
what was interesting was to see a group of non occupy folks, mostly middle aged middle class people,
many of whom had never protested before,
come out to protest a massive payrise for council staff,

when you realise that occupy has now spread far and wide and has changed opinions from the people outside of the initial protests you will see alot of people now support OWS.

like the parents in my country who stood up and said NO pay rises while we all suffer,
parents, not protestors.

occupy 2.0 is now in full effect.

SPOT on, Blaine, that so-called 99 percent baby has been co-opted,
and he's a thrown out southpaw. I only wish the kids safe passage,
and that the self policing that was apparently successful last baseball
season keep the spooks at bay again. The old ones... hmm. Where
DID they get the rent money for the fancy headquarters digs? STAR

Stag and Flar, bud. This whole morph job is taking on a somewhat
familiar aroma of an Arab Springboard to just what TPTB would like
to see happen. Is it too coincidental that the base coat of support
was literally left out in the cold-- while ignored by a large percentage
of the population AND the lamestream except for the latter's reg-
ular derision? Methinks it stinks of another time, but I'm an old guy.
Just the same, I'm keeping my fries peeled. The flaming oil should
be pouring out of the windows next time...lol

Wait until
they start the rioting
and more extreme acts of
violence. Occupy is going
to self destruct but not before
destroying some moral.

Second time I'm asking you to clarify, I want you to show me what you are talking about. What makes you think Occupy is owned by the democratic party? You also to allude to being marxists and leninists now...what indicates this?

Now you actually asked me two entirely different things. I'm also disappointed in reading the thread that your pat answer across the board to people seems to be 'what's your source' or 'prove it' far more than debating on the merit of what anyone is saying. However, I did say I would come back later tonight and support what I was saying with some links post Jan, 1, to show just why I have little hope for Occupy.

First, and in fairness, there is this. This actually gives me hope:

PHILADELPHIA -- A group of protesters affiliated with the Occupy Wall Street movement plans to elect 876 "delegates" from around the country and hold a national "general assembly" in Philadelphia over the Fourth of July as part of ongoing protests over corporate excess and economic inequality.
Source
If this goes anywhere, I'll be impressed and I'll certainly be interested in hearing what it produces for a set and coherent set of points and goals. IF it actually happens..and IF the Occupy movements in places across the country all agree to the final outcome. This is a rather absurd way to simply agree on the core purposes of HAVING a protest and makes me wonder how worthwhile it is when there even has to be a debate in settling it. However, I'll agree that Occupy can be like herding cats for getting agreement, especially between cities and regions.

However, here is a quick sampling of why I've about had it with them. All of them. If the above turns out a mature movement with a core I can somehow see as representative...I'm game. It doesn't exist right now though.

OCCUPY PROTESTERS THROW URINE BALLOONS
4 Protesters Arrested After Urine-Filled Balloons Tossed

Now after the fact, there are other stories saying Denver Occupy claims these don't belong to them at all. Hmm.. Yeah.. I'm sure cities just have roving packs of 60+ protesters forming up on a regular basis....and have nothing whatever to do with the Occupy protesters. Different people..tactics.. everything. Err.. except it is the same people and same tactics. Err...

Three protestors from Occupy Miami and Occupy West Palm Beach were arrested Monday evening in Boca Raton after laying in the Camino Real Bridge roadway, blocking traffic at rush hour in protest of nearby hedge fund industry conference.
Source

At least those ones are harmless. However, it looks like the same ineffective, obnoxious garbage that does everything to enrage the community Occupy needs the support of to get anywhere.

More Occupy arrests Protester arrested for hoisting own flag; 13 cited, arrested for camping

When the officer asked Henry what he was doing, Henry replied that he was putting up his own flag, according to the release. The officer ordered Henry to put the flags back up, but Henry allegedly refused and proceeded to remove the flags from the line and place them on the ground.

Henry then allegedly affixed a homemade cardboard flag to the line, stepping on the American flag in the process, according to police.
Source

Again.. Same garbage, new year. Occupy people seem to think this is cute, or funny. If Occupy had any ability to do a thing without community support, they could enjoy the luxury of seeing it as cute. As it is though, they need community help and support to get anywhere. Period. Numbers matter in this game and without them, Occupy is an interesting fad for a footnote to this era of history.

However, even Occupy's friends are rather fair weather and wimpy about it. I recall how big a deal OWS itself made about how Politicians came down to stand with them and risk their reputations. What a stand they took! Oh indeed.

Oh brother...

NEW YORK (AP) – Two New York City lawmakers arrested at an Occupy Wall Street march have taken offers to get their cases dismissed by avoiding further arrests for six months.

Mark-Viverito and Williams were among dozens of people who calmly sat down in roadway near the Brooklyn Bridge Nov. 17. They were part of broader demonstrations that day.

I'm sorry, but the same thing will happen again and again with these "peaceful" protests.

Those in power will be looking over these protesters and laughing while they get the crap beaten out of them.

I was hoping for a peaceful solution to all of this, but as this election season has shown, I am beginning to feel that there is only one way to make a real change.

"peaceful" protesting may have helped us pull out of Vietnam, but this time we are not talking about a simple order to pull out the troops, we are talking about taking the corruption out of our Government, and the corruption = power, and they don't want to lose that power, this I promise you.

beating a corrupt government this size can only happen one of three ways,
1. elections (which has proven to be a fraud),
2. forcing them (though mass collaboration of most Americans working together to boycott certain things, or by doing something "more drastic"),
3. divine intervention.

We have already tried the first one, and it seems it is not working, so what do we have left?

OWS = Nothing but more Billy clubs and pepper spray.

I hope there is a way out of this peacefully, but just being annoying, will only cause the 1% to lash out at you in ways you haven't even dreamed of, and does nothing but empower them.

The solution is to make the one percent scared of the other 99% and, I promise you they are not scared
