News reports today have verified that the Israeli Defense Forces are using a new RADAR early-warning system, the Maamin, to give 15-20 seconds
of warning to the targets of Qassam rocket attacks in the Sderot of southern Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces has begun using technology that affords Sderot residents a 15 to 20 second warning of an incoming Qassam rocket fired from
the Gaza Strip. The system, which is connected to Sderot's public address system, was used for the first time a week ago, and judged to be a
success.

It may not seem like much but any chance to react and take cover has got to be better than none. Since the system can also pinpoint the origin of the
launch within a second, the next step is to tie into a method of quick-reaction counterattack.
i think this is a gd idea for instance say a rebal fires 1 off and like within 5 or 10 seconds the area say bout 25 square meters is flattened and
satturated with bombs , hmmmm good
The BBC article cited did not mention any warning but a helicopter gunship did attack a target shortly after the rockets struck. That could be an
indication that the launch point tracking was effective.
