Well, here it is live and uncut! MSM is reporting the use of facial recognition enabled cameras being used to do more Data Mining but now it is being honed and tooled to the likes of Minority Report quality and the year is 2012 not 2054.

I for one stopped mall shopping when online shopping became chique back in the early 2000's, and bars are just havens for every type of social experiment known to man so you won't catch me frequenting them either.

The need to have facial recognition enabled cameras in all public places is becoming as ubiquitous as sunshine. You are now being tracked where ever you go and you are being constantly sized-up for a sale.

It is only a matter of time before facial recognition data is streamed in real time and the information is centralized for cross-referencing and personal/private data inquiries of all types and reasons.

Bars , stores to use facial recognition technology to increase sales, Privacy advocates concerned when faces, names are matched

I think this is still a few years away before widespread implementation but no matter... It is pretty disturbing.

I'm sure someone has found a way to make a prosthetic mask to alter your facial structure. This would defeat the purpose of any facial recognition software.

I would be willing to be a million dollars big department stores like wallmart, target and home depot use this technology, as well as your laptop web cams and game systems. Xbox(microsoft AKA windows) is out in the open about it. They admit they use this technology and they all so admit that they use their kenetic cams to spy on people even when they are not using it. For those of you that use laptops or kenetics, if you do not want, microsoft, apple, gateway, dell, hp, ECT... keeping a file on you then I would put a piece of tape over the camera. They keep files on you and sell them to different company's and organizations for high dollars. If you disagree with this technology, and have a facebook or myspace acount then you are not helping to fix this problem. DELETE YOUR PROFILES!!!

Schools have been caught using web cams to spy on children, if schools can do it any one can. Hardly any one uses webcams, it would seem that computer company's would make more money if they just sold the web cams separate. They dont mind giving it away because it makes them more money in the end by selling your information.

It's long time coming. Net is just a testing ground in a sense(see Google's policy now), matching ads to you. Note the use of Facebook in studies for it, probably will amount with all of their use if not hooked to discount cards. I'm seeing this ad machine more and more in stores now.

In the near future we can probably expect drone-like ad blimps floating by you with ads, in the cities.

...or better yet though some bio-metric polymorphic cream that you can apply to your face and afterwards apply a similarly colored interface the size, circumference and thickness of a very small, round band-aid behind the ear and physically change your facial appearance via nano-technology and a wi-fi enabled tablet computer.

Best way for them to not sale anything to me. Nobody pressures me into buying something and this is completely over the edge. I rarely go to the mall to begin with. Walmart is the great satan as far as I am concerned. I will do without before I shop there. I heard that now the Casinos are linked in with the police station. A man was just arrested from the info gathered on him while at a machine. Don't let anyone be fooled this is for more than just shopping. It is quite obvious that the majority of this security crap is about making money. If it was about security they would simply quit playing and arrest everyone.

I believe the bottom line would be more motivated towards population control and compliance in both the literal and figurative senses.

The monetary aspect is moot when it is the government who is running the initiative.

once again this is just in my opinion...

The first time I walk into a store and a computer monitor says hi to me by name I'm putting my foot threw it.
