However, as is oft the case on here, a person may only read the first few pages of a thread. In fact they may not even read beyond the OP. Sure they are forming their own opinion but they are not doing so with all of the information. The hoax label allows people to recognize that a lot of discussion has gone on since the OP and in the end the evidence strongly pointed toward the topic being a hoax. Without that label many people will simply read the OP and think that's all there is to the matter. This will in turn cause a repetition of fraudulent information. In other words ATS will not be denying ignorance but aiding in the promotion of ignorance.

Let me ask you a question regarding the most famous topic in the [HOAX!] forum. Do you believe that the Serpo threads should have been labeled as hoaxes?

Ok. I have read 20 pages. I am confused. How many birth certificates does Obama have?

One - it is held by the State of Hawaii - as are all birth certificates for people born in Hawaii as I understand it.

There are a couple of certified copies around.

On April 25, 2011, pursuant to President Obama‟s request, Director Fuddy personally witnessed the copying of the original Certificate of Live Birth and attested to the authenticity of the two copies. Dr. Alvin Onaka, the State Registrar, certified the copies.

The republican governor of Hawaii (Linda Lingle) and the republican health director of Hawaii both state they have seen the BC and declare it authentic.

The only thing you have ever seen on the internet are hoaxer's fakes (like the one this thread is about, or the others paraded out by WND or Orly Taitz), the one the WH released was a PDF conversion, which, BY LAW in the State of Hawaii, have to have the anti-counterfeit background digitally applied since BC's as old as Obama's didn't come with those. The WH PDF version also converted scanned text to fonts. It is not a photograph or a simple scan.


The ultimate authority in this case is the Hawaii State Department of Health. They certify Obama's BC is a part of their records.

I don't think ANY thread, ANY subject should be labeled [HOAX].
While I understand fully that this website is the private property of the owner, I disagree with this practice while under the flag of denying ignorance. For me, it runs entirely counter to the notion that we are here to discuss, debate and find our own personal truths when the administrators take this or any subject, any thread and tag it as being not worthy of that debate or discussion.

It is from this hypocritical practice that I first began to wonder if ATS wasn't itself a storefront operation of some alphabet soup agency like the CIA or NSA, etc.
I mean, what better way to identify and track the world's most avid and knowledgeable conspiracy theorists than by lighting a bonfire that would attract them like moths? Here, they can taint a subject or event by merely labeling them a [HOAX] and do what months of official denial has always failed to do... convince those theorists that there's nothing to see here. Move along...

But... at this point, I am content with that possibility because the positives still outweigh the negatives. I like most everyone I know here and I love the ability to discuss such a wide range of topics with people of similar thinking.

Finally, even well after I had formed this opinion, I got smacked in the head with it to drive it all home. I ran the very first thread on the Jerusalem/Temple Mount UFO video. It was doing well but, because of the spat between Mike Cohen and ATS, it was shut down. Cohen didn't author the video, he didn't upload it to You Tube, but because he ran the story I linked back to, I lost my thread.

Oh well.

But then, an hour later, someone else ran a thread on the same story, same video and it was allowed to stand. That thread got more stars and flags in a few hours than I had combined over several years, lol.

No matter. I can't fill up my car of put food on the table from either of them. But it was another case of the website sabotaging a subject/thread and that just cemented my feelings.

As for the subject matter?

I keep my personal beliefs on these mostly to myself... but will say that both Serpo and that Temple Mount UFO have been labeled as [HOAX] but, that doesn't make it so, mind you.

Anyone can call anything a hoax or a truth or even a pie in the sky.

You take the slice that you chose to eat.

Why should we believe them anymore than the one posted at the beginning of this thread? I am just asking.

Because it's a legal document from the State's highest authority on the matter.

Short of that, invent your time machine and go back to see where Obama was born.

Because the one at the beginning of this thread was an admitted hoax. The hoaxers even demonstrated how they made their hoax document and claimed they did this to punk the birthers. They produced the office supplies they used in making this hoax. How much more blatant does it have to be. Even after the hoaxers came forward to tell the world how they hoaxed them, people still can't get it in their heads.

I'm not trying to be sarcastic. I just want to see one that appears authentic. Supposedly Kenya has one they also swear is authentic. Who am I supposed to believe?

I dont' thik you will find the Govt of Kenya claims to have an authentic birth certificate for Obama.

OTOH you can make one yourself- try it with the suggested settings and see what you get...

It's not sarcastic at all - it is an exercise to how how easy it is to fake up a Kenyan birth certificate - no doubt the birthers did not use that site, but the point remains that they did fake up a Kenyan birth certificate.

And the point remains that Kenya does NOT claim to have any birth certificate for Obama.
