disinformation-ignorance-arrogance-cover ops-dim-witted posts-trolls-out of context-waste of time

I don't know what it is these past few weeks. It seems that there is an influx of nay-sayers, post bashers, anti-anything posters. The term troll is looking small in terms of how I feel about the general ignorance displayed by posters who have nothing significant to say, with the exception (validated in their mind or by mandate) of opposing a thread/post.

I make it a point to not say anything if my contribution would be a)negative b)stupid c)pointless d)derogatory e)out of context

I believe in constructive criticism (if a view opposes the OP), I believe in expanding a subject in an OP.

The ATS theme is "DENY IGNORANCE", not "ALLOW IGNORANCE".

There is a nice saying out there. If you have nothing nice to say, it would be nice if you said nothing.

I kid. But you can't please everyone, you know? Sadly enough...

This is the price we pay for diversity. But if acceptance was as widespread as diversity, it wouldn't be nearly as big a problem.

If I thought for a moment that "being nice" was a requirement for being on ATS or I should keep quiet, I would not be here. The continual display of ignorance displayed on ATS because such persons so endowed don't know enough to keep quiet and observe is enough to drive many people away.

If Deny Ignorance is the ATS credo, so let that be the mandate for responses.

I blame the connection with FaceBook as the recent cause of the decline in value of the entire ATS site. To simpy shrug and smile to yourself about some idiot's thread or posting is simply playing loose with the guidelines by which we learn to live in society. That would be a liberal's way of not taking a responsible position on, if relatively minor, an aspect of life. (I'm half a liberal, but not that half.)
