Depleted uranium, radioactive toxic waste that is a by-product of uranium enrichment, was first used in 1973 in the Yom Kippur war when Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and the U.S. government gave it to Israel to use on the Arabs. It is now used in Afghanistan and Iran, plus some European countries. Extensive studies by scientists have indicated that exposure to DU aerosols from DU munitions before and after they are exploded are poisoning soldiers at the scene and civilians who remain in their countries, since radiation contamination lasts for many years once it gets into the air, soil, and water. Some describe the spread of the material as genocide.

Running around spraying nuclear waste pellets all over the place is a clear indication of the Political stance in this situation and just one example of the WMD lies. Considering they killed a few thousand of their own people to get this ball rolling does go to show the threat to humanity this faction is taking. In the short term it is a cost effective way to take out a tank, in the medium term it does disrupt and exterminate a lot of the local biology as a new element is introduced into the environment. In the long term those species that do adapt tend to grow a lot bigger, either from reduced competition or an added energy source. Radioactive Caesium has been used to increase crop yields.

The global exposure to radiation has increased dramatically since its recent discovery with many atmospheric and medical tests taking place. Our atmosphere also helps shield us from solar radiation, but that is slipping as well with ozone depletion still continuing and other pollutants entering the ecology. There are some long term advantages with humanity developing some radiation resistance if it is going to become space faring, but too much and Earth will look like Mars.

The use of Uranium in this way does strike at the conscience just as strongly as many other aspects of this opportunistic war.

Being white is the consequence of a mutation that traps eumelanin in the Golgi apparatus. It can’t leave cells and color the skin.
The mutation that makes people white is tiny, a single DNA base change, but it’s there in nearly 100% of white Europeans and not there in nearly 100% of sub-Saharan Africans, East Asians, and Native Americans.
I think the bioterror plot succeeded, in tone if not in detail, by illuminating the idiocy of white supremacy. The writers envisioned knitting a bunch of pathogens into a deadly quilt of hate, stitched with CRISPR, and that’s really the main point. The hate is real.
