i think the op was saying pretty much what u were but not as hostile like as in russia is gaurding its interests as it seems to assume war is coming but most likely wont directly get invovled but is preparied for attacks on its interests in the event of an expanding war at least thats what i got from it i dont see russia risking its citizens just for one me country atleast not iran perhaps syria but that is cuz of their naval base

that is how i took it russia sees war coming and does not want to risk potental unrest in their Territory and regions
ie the refugee thing as i dont think the russians are too fond of illegal immigrants even if they are refugees

that is one of the things i have always liked about them they tend to be blunter then most countries and with the georgia situation in particular when they say they will do something they usualy do it and do it promptly(cuban missle crisis an exception) i think if russia and america ever teamed up again ala ww2 that our nations would be unstopable if we just co-operated and met mutal threats together two super powers on the same team tends to be a game changer

russia is not going to do anything its just poker bluffs.

russia has 3million russian citizens living in israel. their high officials live in israel during the winter.

no one in our media tell the truth that several divisions of us troops around 10000 men are in israel preparing for the attack on iran.

Russia won't attack Israel... but they wouldn't care.

russia might bluster but they wont confront the US Military over Iran, no more then the US woud confront Russia's military over another country. Way to much at stake on both sides. Iran will stand alone. Other countries though will be happy to sell Iran targets for US missles such as new tanks etc...

Americans are quickly building military hospitals in Georgia, seems they are preparing for war with Iran. Georgia is Russian neighboor. Weird... If Russia advances forward over Georgia, than what is the purpose of these hospital bases?

I can see strikes on Iran but not an invasion of Iran.

Russian forces hadnt seen combat for a while, they need some real-time training. This would be a good scenario.

For one thing, we must stop picturing just the middle east. A "world" war means a wider theater, like maybe an attack on our west coast or an attack on any of the US bases around the world. China did say it would defend Iran, didn't it?

I have to agree with the consensus here, if anything we would do an air strike on the facilities and leave when we were done. Russia will protect their interests and might even arm Iran or aid them in a war but they are not going to fight and die for Iran.
