What the frigg are you talking about? Probably all of those but it certainly shouldn't warrant the death penalty for the burning of ink and paper, I know what the book means to people but if Islam is meant to be a religion of peace why are people being murdered because of it?

I'd burn them Too And I would burn every other religious book like the Bible and every other book dedecated to a false god or prophet.
Religion and the followers of religious writings have been the cause of countless wars and billions of deaths since the day that they were written.
The sooner we destroy such books, the sooner we would all get along and the wars will stop.

As usual only half the story is being told here. The korans were used in prisons and jails and they were burned because the prisoners wrere leaving each other messages in them encouraging each other with "kill the infadel" type extremist messages. I do not know the Muslim religion that much and cannot answer your questions, but you can easily say if the Christian religion is about tolerance, charity and morality then how come .... X,Y,Z. I think the focus shouldn't be on why certain Muslims act a certain way or justify certain actions but rather we should ask why our soldiers are antagonizing a population known for violent reactions especially when it comes to their religion.

Because of conditioning (indoctrination), culture and history. It might not be holy to you but it is to someone else. If you are an opposing force occupying a country and your job relies on discipline I would assume that doing something that could incite riots or put yourself or your soldiers in danger would be a big no no.

This has nothing to do with the validity of religion, or whether one religion is crazy or not, it has to do with common freaking sense.

Agreed. It's actually amazing in 2012 we can say things don't exist if we can't find it with science. Religion is the only thing people still hold onto because they simply believe its real, still trying to find the burial place of jesus. Living their lives based on a book written by people who told stories instead of sat around a TV giggling to laugh tracks and bad jokes.
