If he did this, he is an idiot, because processing mail at a government facility takes days or weeks! Sending a letter to the press, which will get opened and aired immediately, pretty much ensures anything sent to a government official will never reach its source.

Nothing worse than half-ass terrorists.
Shoe bombers, underwear bombers, smoke bombers, and now this. Terrorism just ain't what it used to be.

As I'm a mailman who walks outside and has worked as a handler inside the main plant... I have not seen anything of the sort that screens for this type of stuff. What I've personally seen...

Mail is picked up from local offices and the blue street boxes
Taken to plant by the trucks
Ran through sorting machines to corresponding zip codes
Put on trucks straight from the sorting machines
Trucks take the mail straight to local offices for delivery

The only thing that gets screened, to my knowledge, are large parcels that are transported by plane.

Most of these are already killed by the post office. Unless the Pathogen is some kind of genetically modified archaeic bacteria (i highly highly doubt) , it would have been destroyed.

The post office does not have a defense against this. Letters are picked up, sorted then delivered. I worked at the main plant in Columbus, OH sorting and currently work as a carrier. The only thing the PO screens is packages larger than 16 ounces. Letters are not inspected at all unless there is something wrong i.e. no postage or envelope was not properly written on.

Didnt they buy some microwave machines or UV things to kill all that stuff?

I was under the impression that everything got zapped and you dont send unexposed film anymore.

The Anthrax scare wasn't a hoax. People really did die of Pulmonary Anthrax.

As toward this being a hoax, well I don't know, but it is entirely possible for some agents to be made by one person in their home. Ricin is a classic example. People make that toxin in their homes every year.

Oh that's silly. Firstly, microwave machines? No, they'd burn the paper. As for UV, through paper? How is that going to kill anything? Many pathogens aren't affected by sunlight so that wouldn't be effective.

"Pathogens" would also be attached to the paper if the guy sending them scratched his arse and touched the letters. So what "Pathogens" exactly are we talking about here, Gentlemen ?

Most "spores" are not harmed by irradiation. I don't think they are doing it wide scale yet, mostly because it is costly, dangerous, and arguably ineffective.

ABC News Article

It is being used in some places though, such as Congressional Offices and Whitehouse.

Mail Irradiation, US EPA

Is my mail is being irradiated?
Currently only mail to the White House, Congressional offices, and federal government offices in the 202-205 Zip Code exchanges is being irradiated. Irradiation is taking place at facilities in Ohio and New Jersey.

Are there changes to the mail after it has been irradiated?
Yes. Irradiating mail at such high intensity creates new compounds, which can result in a different look, feel, and even smell. The potential health effects of these changes is unknown. Because of the intensity of the beam, mail often looks yellowed, and can become brittle. Book bindings may become brittle, and plastic may be discolored. Seeds, plants or other biological material will be sterile, and photographic film will be useless. Items such as gem stones may be altered, and computer disks, CDs, and some electronic equipment (like personal digital assistants) may be damaged.

Have people complained of health problems from irradiated mail?
Some postal and federal workers have complained of skin irritation and respiratory problems associated with exposure to irradiated mail. However, there are no established health effects from the mail, and investigations into a these complaints are ongoing.

ETA:
Thanks a lot guys for making me look that up. I'm sure googling the term, "Are anthrax spores killed by radiation" won't put me on any FBI lists.

I do remember hearing about this. From what I understand it doesn't work anyway. It's a colossal waste of money, but hey what isn't these days?

In past experience with these types of incidents the more hype means it was a hoax. But all seems quite on the information front on this one.well still looking

Just yesterday I got a book in the mail from a friend - one book - and on the front of the envelope it was stamped "media mail subject to inspection". I was shocked.

No one is going to convince me that dozens of letters mailed to government officials and media types didn't garner attention from postal inspectors. Surely there are cameras at whatever postal facility these were mailed from? It's not rocket science, they have to have a clue who did this - if it was in fact real and not some psy op.

Maybe someone sent them a box of Twinkies. Or maybe a certificate for free lunch at some restaurant that has food chemistry that is bad for them, Maybe the letter will cause the Senators to get stressed and the body will create different chemistry that slowly poisons them. Pathogens don't always have to be microbial.

But why Colbert and Stewart are asshats
they have tons of followers/listeners, and they made a huge joke out of the elites super pac strategies.. Id say, this is real. Though.. A lot of strings being pulled these days, who really knows but the puppet master? Something brewing, and its going to boil over.. Sometimes I think colbert and stewart are just pulling the wool over our eyes.. By telling us things we despise and then getting us to laugh about it.. Like, the jokes on us.. But.. I dont know.. I cant have hope, as pandoras box has been open for centuries.. So ill sit, relax, and react.

I call false flag and FAKE.

This is more "engineered terrorism" from TPTB to legitimize a marxist police state.
Seriously sending threatening mail IS NOT going to help the cause of liberty and freedom.
All it does is legitimize a soviet style police state.

They can set anyone up with this false flag. Maybe to silence decent against the real power brokers.

Why send twinkies in the mail?

What if there is no pathogen and this is all a psyop to get us paranoid over the Teh'wor' wists?

There are no terrorists except for the CIA/DHS and TSA. This is a prepped psyop.

They are probably creating another false flag.

I remember those claims as well, but if the CIA was involved, then even they have lost their nerve! The underwear bomber was a complete flop, so if he had help from anyone, then they should be ashamed of themselves!

The Times Square guy supposedly had ties to foreign terror camps? Maybe next time he should contact his local Jr. High Chemistry department, because the 8th Graders there know more about explosives than he did! We were making far better explosives before High School than what this supposed operative used in Times Square.

Not disagreeing that our own Govt may have had involvement, just pointing out how they have lost their nerve and are afraid to do any real damage lately. The 9/11 truth movement, along with the Tea Party and Occupy Movements, and the Ron Paul crowd has the government really playing things close to the breast, and they are not taking any chances, even on their false flag operations. This is a good sign!
The only frustrating part is that the majority of Americans still think these idiots were actual terrorists.
