I have never encountered anything. I would really like to believe in ghosts - maybe less of the monsters and random creatures but i believe that it makes sense for a spirit to be trapped in a certain space or memory according to an untimely or horrific unnatural death. for example, lets say a young girl was raped and killed (an extremely tragic and distressing event for not only us but of course the young girl) as she did not close her eyes and take that final breath with peace and acceptance the energy from her struggle or distress would reside in that spot, or maybe with her killer? maybe with his family? maybe with her family? - therefore 'haunting' a place or a person.

Welcome to the thread Endot.

Consider yourself lucky that you haven't encountered a ghost.
It's good that you still have an open mind to accept that they do possibly exist; most people who have never seen one, don't believe it until they have a personal experience.

Yes, the more traumatic a death, the more residual energy is left behind. And, some spirits can stay stuck in their death state for some reason that I don't fully understand, experiencing it over and over. How utterly horrible!

Thanks for stopping in and chatting with us. Tell your friends to swing by too.

Yes, it is possible to invade others' dreams. That's what evil spirits/ghosts do when people sleep and have nightmares sometimes. If they can do is as "energy beings", then I see no reason why we can't do it too. After all, when we leave our body to astral travel we are an "energy being" also.

I've read about this before, but I have no idea where it was, so I can post a link.

Thanks for the bump.

That's interesting. When I was a kid I remember I used to have dreams with some evil entities invading my dreams on occasion. I believe that may have helped my dreams go lucid. Anyway my favorite method of dealing with an evil entity was to create a force field around the evil entity and then detonate a nuclear bomb inside. Maybe it was overkill but I thought it worked well. Eventually I stopped having those kinds of dreams.

Reminds me of one dream where I watched the world get nuked. It was so sad. hmmm, so not only is astral travel and out of body experience possible, but some say it happens? Makes me wonder. Thanks for replying.

Lol, I erased this from a post yesterday. I was guessing the President would wear a blue tie. Well that's what my guess was. I was surprised today to see him wearing a blue tie. My guess for Tuesday's speech is a red tie.

Does anyone know what color he typically wears for the State of the Union? This could be interesting to speculate if it happens again, is it pyschic powers, dream suggestion, or just lucky coincidence?
I guess to make it really odd he would have to wear some odd color like green. Many people don't even have green ties. I guess a red tie is common.

I did that for a little while.

Back in the day (spiritweb),
a group of us tried to get into each others dreams, and I'll be a monkey's uncle!
It works.

So you can to some extent. What we all found out was even though you could enter another's dream, you were at the mercy of that dream, and it ended up being an embarrassing time for some people.
We only did it a few times before everyone stopped...lol

Hi ,
Although I've lurked here for a few years, Ive never been motivated to join...Until I started reading this thread. I want to congratulate you,Sled on a job well done, because this is what it should be like...a peaceful atmosphere...no trolls...a place where people can discuss...tell their story and get respect at the same time.
I have read all 300 pages...no easy task...took almost 2 months, I believe. But I have enjoyed every minute of it. This is kind of strange because I must admit that I have had NO paranormal experiences in my entire life...I have never seen a UFO either ,although I hope I will someday.
My point of view on everything is basically that reality is not what we think it is. There is "something" going on here...we just don't understand what it is. After reading your entire thread I'm further convinced that that is true. Belittling people...calling them crazy or deluded just distances us from the truth. Again, well done. I hope this thread continues to grow longer and longer, albeit in cycles. As soon as I get these 20 replies in you can be assured of another flag from me.

Take care

Oh, Wow! Thanks for those kind words, MurphysOtherLagh.
Welcome to the thread.

You are the first to read the entire thread and live to tell about it.
I mean, I think most people quit before making it all the way through.

There is anything, and everything in here, right? Even though I have had many different experiences myself, there are others that have posted things that left my jaw in my lap.
I will never tell anyone they are making things up, just because I haven't been through it myself, I know how that feels; not good.

You made my day. Thanks for stopping in to say hello, and I'm happy this thread inspired you to join. YEA!!!!

I'm not touching that with a ten foot pole! Ha!

Had you posted about this on here before, DB? Maybe that's where I read it.

A little something strange to post myself... Missing Items... AGAIN!!!

For the past two weeks I've had several items "disappear" from where I KNOW I put them. One was my pair of soft leather gloves that I always put in my top chest of drawers when I take them off. I went to get them Friday, and they were no where to be found. Searched the house upside down, looked in my car glove box... nothing.

Last week I had bought a pack of AA batteries for my flashlight, and when I went back to get them the next day they were gone. Of course I can't say that someone else in the house got to them first, but... I was pissed over that because I really needed them.

Also, a few days ago I was going to read up on how to set up my new smart phone (first one I've owned) in the little instruction book that came with it. I distinctly remember placing all the paperwork, along with the book, back in the box and putting it in my room. So, I go to retrieve to book from the box, and it's not there. I was like, 'Are you *&^%ing kidding me?!' I searched down in the cushions in the living room and anywhere I had had it before taking the box to my room, but it wasn't anywhere! Pissed me off... AGAIN!

Today, I was going to use the vacuum cleaner to go over some door frames that were acquiring too much dust on top, but when I pulled out my vacuum, the duster brush I needed was not attached in it's "place" on the vacuum!!! WTH?????
Searched the house again... not found!

I spoke out loud and said things to the ghost that I won't repeat here, and told it to bring everything back, or I would banish it from the face of the earth!

Seems like there was something else that came up missing, but I forget now what it was.

Is this spirit/ghost just trying to piss me off so I'm in a lower-vibration state of consciousness, being pissed off?... Is it just wanting me to notice it?... Is it due to some type of strange occurrence with time lines crossing?... Or, do I have an intruder that likes to take only gloves, batteries, vacuum brushes, and instruction booklets?

I think it's time to borrow my friend's smudge stick again!!!

Update:
All the missing items have been found... in odd places.

Well, I still don't know about the batteries, there DOES seem to be more in the storage drawer than was there previously, but I can't swear to it.
The vacuum brush was found under a table in my bedroom. I didn't have this particular vacuum in that room, so don't ask me how it got there.

My gloves "appeared" on top of the coat rack, where I had searched many times, and my instruction booklet showed up in my bag that I carry to work.

I won't say that I didn't put the book there myself and then forgot about it... that's certainly a possibility, but the only way the gloves would have turned up on the coat rack was if my daughter had been lying to me about having them. I really don't think she had them because I've never seen her wear gloves, even in the coldest of winters. She swears she didn't have them, so...

Anyway, the important thing is, the ghosts listened to me and brought everything back; guess they didn't want to get banished.

No, but I haven't really had time to look everywhere. I have a room in the house that is used only for storage, so that is the only place I need to go through that I haven't searched yet. I have no idea why it would turn up there, but when things go missing, they turn up in odd places, you know?

Sorry to disappoint you, Orionthehunter, but Pres. Obama wore a grayish blue tie to give his speech last night.
Keep practicing with your psychic abilities; no one is 100% perfect in what they pick up every time.

Only 3 more to go. WooHoo!!!

I need to go welcome some new members myself; that's how I usually get others to come here. I haven't done it in awhile.
Maybe subconsciously I don't want this to end.

Yeah, I noticed he wore a blue tie. Looked like the same tie he wore the other day. Plus I saw a picture where he wore a blue tie last year for the State of The Union Address.

Missed it.
