It seems that what they Occupy Protesters are really doing these days is taking up the valuable time of the police officers who protect us on the streets. You have two stories in recent days that have me appalled at the OWS movement.

Oakland officials said the massive Occupy Oakland demonstration on Saturday diverted police resources from calls elsewhere in the city, stymieing the Police Department's crime-fighting efforts.

Then you have this one. Berkele y Man Murdered After Police 'Pre-Occupied' With Occupy Movement Failed to Respond to Initial 911 Call

Who will be responsible for these crimes? When will these people stop being a burden on society and pick themselves up off the ground and try or take a risk? It seems they like starting fights with the police state that they think the US is in. Thoughts on these horrendous acts of ignorance and stupidity?

So your blaiming occupy for someone getting murdered elsewhere? They have the right to protest. The cops didnt have to keep watch on them. The cops could have answered the call. Dont blame people for doing something they have the right to do, ad that the cops mis spend money so they cant afford to answer real calls. Thats a ridiculous arguement.

Perfect reply.

I'm not a 1%er or a 99%er, but the accusations in the OP are ridiculous.

The protestors are almost always non violent. There demonstrations are peaceful 99% of the time. Its the police that incite the violece not the protestors.

To say the protestors are blocking the polices ability to perform other operation like saving citizens (instead of rounding them up like cattle and beating them) is ridiculous.
The people have every right to protest and there is no reason the police have to be there.

I think OWS is not going to end until the world gets better and we all know its taking the fall for the worst.

As more and more people become homeless and the economic situation continues to crumble people are going to start taking to the streets.

I believe at some point the majority of the population will turn to OWS. Either these people will rise up and make a change to this mess OR there will be a mass round up of these people who will be thrown into concentration camps and be labeled as terrorists. I hope its the first one.

This just show the priorities of the police, instead of protect who call, they prefer attack the people that have the right to manifest.
Corporative police... police state...

Another "look at the damn lazy bastids wit no job" post. Followed by the required "poor cops" suffix. You asked some good questions but about the wrong folks. That pepper spray needs to go to Wall St. and leave Main st alone. If the law in this country went after the crooks who just fleeced this nation. There would not be people in the streets demanding it and your angry issue would be moot. but folks like yourself would rather be angry at the victims of the crime than the criminals.

It really reminds me of when "made men"( gangsters) would kiss the ring of the biggest crook(the rich Don) Then go shake down a shopkeeper. He isn't in the gang so he has it coming.

A lot of people think most of the protesters complaints they have coming by not being or doing some fantasy effort at success.Tell that to the graduate who went to school to live that fantasy and is dealing with the reality of no jobs in their field. Tell it to the 50 something who had his 20yr job shipped to India.Tell it to the "heroes"( well we call them that in public but in private they are being shafted and considered dangerous by most LE) who return to an economy that can say up front "unemployed need not apply". All the right reasons are there for the folks in the streets and they have the right under the Constitution to do just what they are doing in fact if you would read it you would realize we are REQUIRED to do this if lawmakers are not fulfilling their duties to their constituency. So who are the patriots? the ones following the law of the land, vis-a-vis the Constitution or an internet forum member griping?

Sounds like they will soon suggest that the National Guard be called in.

Or private security contractors !!

Don't the cops in Oakland commit nearly all the violent crimes to begin with? Seems like the streets'll be safer to me.
