Signs are up paid for by The Media Research Center (MRC).

They track liberal bias in the news of all things (the nerve of some people !).

The MRC president said "the American people are sick and tired of the left-wing media deciding who will govern our country" !!!

(CNSNews.com) – The Media Research Center (MRC), a watchdog group that tracks liberal bias in the news, had two massive billboards erected in New York City’s Times Square on Tuesday. The billboards say “Don’t Believe the Liberal Media!” and they are expected to be viewed by 1.3 million onlookers over the next four weeks, according to the MRC.

“There is no better location for this billboard than the liberal media’s own backyard,” said MRC President Brent Bozell in a statement. “We promised this 2012 campaign would be the most expansive, most exhaustive and consequently the most expensive operation in our 25 years. We will keep that promise because this is the most important election in our lifetime and the American people are sick and tired of the left-wing media deciding who will govern our country.”

“This is our message to the left-wing so-called news media: To the degree you try to tilt this election, we'll be there documenting, exposing, and neutralizing your efforts. The reason you're losing your audiences by the millions is because of your bias. You may continue at your own peril. Fasten your seatbelt, folks, we're coming after you."

That's a big waste of money. The term "left-wing" will only attract those who support Republicans, and turn away those who proudly vote Democrat. Those in the middle will laugh at the childish waste of time and vote for whoever they want anyway.

Saying "left wing" will just further divide. So, there's a possible agenda with that. All of the MSM should be counted just not one categorized side.

I agree. At least Fox News doesn't hide their Republican slant. If you want a variety of Republican and Moderate views on an issue, just watch Fox. MSNBC, CNN, and the Comedy Central shows are Moderate to Democrat slanted, but they aren't as up front about it, which is why casual news watchers think ill of Fox News.

do people really believe that the media is 'Liberal'?

Political Ideologies aside, do you really believe the Media is 'Liberal'? in the true definition of 'Liberalism'?

Of course not. However, the term "Liberal" has become synonymous with "Social Democrat".

Wouldn't it have been more correct to put on the billboards:

"Don’t Believe the Media!"

ROFL, check out the "About MRC" page directly on their site. It reads like a parody. I feel sorry for any Republicans who get duped by stuff like this.

between reading the OP and your post
i had already come to the conclusion that i need a plane flight or two, a ladder, and a small amount of white paint.
the temptation to actually do that is rapidly becoming irresistable

it should say

"dont believe the liberal media is liberal" or
"dont believe the media is free"

the first two only try to hide their slant by allowing a republican here or there for an interview, and anyone who takes comedy central's satirical faux news as reality shouldn't vote anyway.

People complain so much about fox news, that it makes me think one station is a threat, against msnbc, cnn, abc, etc. Its hilarious, and the reality is, the existence of fox news is fair, the left shouldn't have a monopoly on media.

its bad enough we have to hear from lefty movie stars who's opinions should not really matter so much anyway.

Are you being serious? Moderate?
I've tried to watch fox noise many times, but their blatant right wing extremism, is nauseating. They lie and don't even care.
It's ok though, Ailes wanted GOPtv back when Nixon was in the WH, and finally got it.

Are you serious? Try watching Sunday morning news. The vast majority of guests are right wing. Have been for years. It's not really close. The logical excuse was/is that When Bush was President, the people needed to hear from the right wing because they had control. Since Obama took office, we need to hear the opposing view.

Why is it that the few times fox has a left wing guest on, they are pitted against 4-5-6 right wing panelists/guests? Do the other networks do that to the right wing guests? Nope.

Am I the only one to notice these things?

I'm sick of the MYTH of the Liberal Media being pushed further and further by people with certain agendas.

Let's just agree that ALL MSM outlets are LIARS and be done with it!

I really, really feel the urge to put up an opposing billboard across from it that says "Don't believe the Godless Conservatives, either!"...just to see their faces.

How anyone can label corporate owned media "left wing" is beyond me, but hey I guess thats down to the indoctrination of the media that has conditioned me.

I love how conservatives complain constantly about the liberal media when the most powerful of talk radio pundits are all super right wing mouth pieces for the GOP. They claim to be the underground when they are the majority it's pretty funny.

It just makes me sad that Americans are so stupid they aren't able to understand this when its so obvious.

OK,

I agree.

But let's also consider that ALL MSM is being pushed by people with certain agendas.

It would be kinda hard for opposing sides to "push" their agendas in the same place !!
