No we don't everyime the military gets put on the chopping block we lose jobs and we also lose wealth that end up have systems designed in Europe and parts made in China.

The outsourcing of the US Miltary which has what has been happening for the last 30 years and why "contractors" are such a huge talking point for America Bashers.

Mark my words we have lost and will lose more wealth and you will see an increase of contractors putting this nation even in more national security jeporady.

I hate to break to many people it's not just the American economies who benefit from our foreign policy the majority of the countries in the world do.

Don't recall mentioning D's and R's in this thread.

Jobs go to where the most demand is and the most business friendly environment and that ain't here when it is cheaper to make a product 10,000 miles away and have it shipped here than it is to make it 1 mile away from where you live.

The world we know today was created by that simple fact why because it is too expensive here which is why you see us in the rest of the world.

Gutting the military is not going to be what people thought it would be they cheered Clinton when he gutted it and now GUT IT MORE!

Easy to say for some people because they think there ass isn't on the line BUT IT IS and in so many ways their tunnel vision and their ideology will never let them see.

What did we totally forget about World War 1 and 2 and the cuts and the result after 9-11 ?

Did we not ever hear about troops being sent into combat without body armor and substandard vehicles?

Did we never heard about the atrocious care at Walter Reid?

They always get screwed but hey as long as they support Paul who cares.

Who's trying to gut the military? All I've seen Paul say is bring them home. There are more than enough places we could put them on our border instead of Iraqs. The reason why it's so expensive to do business here is because of Government. There is no other reason. Stop crippling small business with outrages taxes. I'm sure you know all the crap one has to go through simply to open a lemonade stand? Feds rushing in to shut down some omish guy selling raw milk? Seriously? That's why. Government is too damn big.

There is no isolationism here. I think simply that we shouldn't be nation building in Iraq but more so in Detroit. We shouldn't be dictating to others about humanitarianism while we have veterans sleeping on the street or banks kicking people out of their house. And we shouldn't be starting and fighting wars in the name of Israel while we have a blood thirsty drug cartel sitting on our own border. Who's going to fix these problems? Obama? Give me another option and I won't vote for Paul.

Okay, now you're just getting silly. However, I have to say, I do agree with you on this point you brought up:

Mark my words we have lost and will lose more wealth and you will see an increase of contractors putting this nation even in more national security jeopardy.

Really now for what reason were contractors used in Afghanistan and Iraq and other countries?

Simple reason is the are already underfunded and undermanned and the biggest overriding reason

To save a buck.

Well since obviously the MSM will not cover this event, wouldn't it be awesome if it was huge international news? That would really wake America up. If other countries residents have to tell us what is going down.

If we were not at war, all the free stuff you mention could be paid for. Don't you realize that when we are at war, a very small percentage of the population receives a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge amount of money for it? Sure there are the guys doing the grunt work in defense factories making pocket change compared to the robber barons bringing in BILLIONS of TAXPAYER FUNDED DOLLARS. What this amounts to is CORPORATE WELFARE where all of our tax dollars are given to corporations who already have BILLIONS of dollars.

Yeah right

Politico obtained information about Paul’s proposed spending cuts, and Democrats and Republicans alike have reason to be fearful about pet issues. Defense is one area in which Paul proposes massive cutbacks, but social programs and government agencies in general were put up for deep slashes or overall elimination. Also on the docket is a reduction in Presidential salary- a mostly token measure bringing the six-figure number down to just under $40,000- in line with median US income. In a public show of strength, they will be undertaking what may best be described as perhaps one of the most unique anti-war protests and endorsement of a Presidential candidate in our nation's history. Upon arriving at the White House, they will make an "about-face" so their backs are turned on the current administration. With a folded flag in view as a symbolic tribute to our fallen men and women in uniform, they will then hold a salute for as many seconds as those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice during Obama's time in office. Family members of KIA are invited to place their hands on the folded flag. There will be transportation for disabled veterans to participate. They are also encouraging family members of military and all non-military supporters of their cause to come out and fall-in behind them in this march.

Make no mistake about it, members of our military and our nation's veterans are not pleased about these unconstitutional, endless wars. They are not happy with the mainstream media's biased and deplorable coverage of the only candidate in the Republican field that is not only a veteran but has a spotless voting record that spans over decades and demonstrates that he has always stood up and defended the constitution of the United States, even when it often meant that he had to stand all alone.

They intend to send a powerful message to us all. The event is called, "Ron Paul is the Choice of the Troops". Adam Kokesh has sent out a call to rally together for this event. Adam is a veteran of the Iraqi war and member/co-founder of such groups as: Iraqi Veterans Against the War and Veterans for Ron Paul. He is also the host of a patriot-minded television show called. "Adam vs the Man".

There are many other similar groups such as: Veterans for Peace, Combat Veterans for Ron Paul, US Army for Ron Paul and the list goes on.

Yawn didn't read this link did we?

www.usdebtclock.org...

Miss this little examples?

1.1 trillion on medicare plus the interest
1.1 trillion on Social security plus the interest

15 trillion owed to social security
20 trilliion owed for their drugs
81 trillion owed for their healthcare.

Yeah in my book that is a lot of money and more than the combined incomes of all those evil defense contractors.

It amazes me how many people seem to be incapable of imagining what it would be like to have another country's military occupying our soil when there is no need for it.....other than to maybe remind us that they are superior. It also amazes me that this country has any real allies at all, considering the way our government does as it pleases all over the globe with little regard or respect for the rights of our foreign neighbors to live a peaceful existence the same as we would like to. I'm not saying this is what Neo is doing, but I come across many people almost daily who really don't stop to think about what it would be like if the shoe was on the other foot.

I'm wondering at what point building a strong national defense here at home instead of occupying the globe with our military became a "fringe" idea. I would submit that anyone viewing this concept as being "fringe" is hopelessly lost and swiftly becoming a liability when it comes to the future of this country.

15 trillion owed to social security
20 trilliion owed for their drugs
81 trillion owed for their healthcare.

There's NO quick fix (or fix period) for that mess no matter how you spin it. Healthcare needs a complete makeover (or else it will be a thing of the past) and social security is going away. No-one will be able to prevent it. However, it doesn't seem as if you are very well versed on Ron Paul's position on those issues. I call it a "soft landing" vs the completely and utterly chaotic crash we are soon going to see.

Which candidate do you think tackles these issues? Is there anyone else who is willing to take the EXTREME actions we have been in need of over the last decades? Didn't think so.

Ha! Did you have a nice flight here from Fairyland?

How about contractors don't have the same level of accountability for their actions as our military? A much preferable scenario when you are a government engaged in nefarious activities, I'd say.

Do you have any idea how much these private contractors get paid? Perhaps you should do a Google search of our friends at Blackwater and see how our "underfunded" government spent your tax dollars on prostitutes and strippers for these contractors who are helping our "undermanned and underfunded military.

So support the actions that led to their creation and add more seems to me theres a conflict of interest there.

Blackwater!!! oh nice that didn't take too long.
