I thought id start a thread for movies which tried to warn us the way things really are. Please post Movie name, year and the quote.

I will start with one which was discussed on here previously
www.abovetopsecret.com...

The Veteran 2011

“The organizing principle of any society is for war. The basic authority of the modern state over its people resides in its war powers. Today its oil, tomorrow water. Its what we like to call the God business; Guns, Oil, and Drugs. But there is a problem, our way of life, its over. Its unsustainable and in rapid decline, that’s why we implement demand destruction. We continue to make money as the world burns. But for this to work the people have to remain ignorant of the problem until its too late. That is why we have triggers in place, 9-11, 7-7 , WMDs. A population in a permanent state of fear does not ask questions. Our desire for war becomes its desire for war. A willing sacrifice. You see fear is justification, fear is control, fear is money.”

Above the Law 1988

Nico Toscani: Is that what Zagon is; one of your basement boys?
Nelson Fox: Zagon's a rancher. 4000 acres in Costa Rica. Beautiful place.
Nico Toscani: Beautiful place, huh? And tell me, was that bought with opium money from the triangle?
Nelson Fox: And a ton of coke a week from other places.
Nico Toscani: Which he funnels here through Salvano, The Company getting it's cut, of course.
Nelson Fox: Legal tender.
Nico Toscani: Yeah. So war is still the greatest business, huh Nelson? I mean, these guys have financed & started every war we've ever fought. But you know something, nobody would believe me if I told them the bankers run the C.I.A.
Nelson Fox: Oh, come on Toscani. Don't preach to me.
Nico Toscani: So, the Senator couldn't be bought, could he? He was going to expose your plans to invade Nicaragua, with your #in coke money. So The Agency clears Zagon to cap his ass, right?
Nelson Fox: Just keep walking, asshole.
Nico Toscani: So some poor innocent priest finds out; he comes here, but you can't kill the Senator until you find out if the padre has talked. So Zagon comes in with his little doctor bag. Only by then, I'm in on it. And you #in know that I'm going to recognize his handiwork.
Nelson Fox: Yeah. And if your name had been Joe Smith, I never would have caught it. But how many Nicolo Toscanis are there?
Nico Toscani: Tell me something old buddy, do we kill our own senators now?
Nelson Fox: Why not? The Romans did.
Nico Toscani: Are we the #ing Romans?
Nelson Fox: We're an empire too.
Nico Toscani: You don't believe that # for a minute, Nelson.

The first quote speaks for itself. The second from Seagals first film is quite interesting in how it touches on the CIA drug running and also states the banks run the CIA.

Please add more as and when you find them so others can check them out,

EDIT
another quote from the Seagal film

Nico Toscani: You know something Fox. Right now in Europe they're trying some 80 year-old camp guard for Nazi war crimes. And all around our country they got guys on death row for murdering 1, 2, 3 guys. And they probably deserve what they're going to get. But you & I... we know a couple of people that are personally responsible for the death of what, 50,000 non-military personnel? Librarians, teachers, doctors, women, children. All dead! We've wiped-out entire cultures! And for what? Not one C.I.A. agent has ever been tried, much less accused of any crimes. You guys think you're above the law. Well, you ain't above mine.

PS both the above movies are on youtube if you look

Nice idea, I really do like it, but can we formal it down a little? I mean this is my day off, but if we have to provide a quote for each one... Well there goes my day. And I have to split and stack wood today. (Did that sound like whining? If so sorry.)

Make it less formal and I'll bet you'll get a better response. Just a suggestion.

Good idea just the same, and I have nearly a thousand movies.

First one that comes to mind is Network, made in the 70s it sounds as if it were made today. A must see for anyone who is not aware of it. Quotes of all the warnings in this film would be nearly half the film. Interestingly, Greg Palast quotes extensively from this film in his NYTimes bestseller Armed Madhouse, "Mr. Beale."

Also do documentaries count? These days I almost prefer them.

This is also a quote from Oliver Stone's film JFK, and was spoken by Donald Sutherland's character in the film - supposed to. be the same character as Deep Throat from the Watergate scandal film "All The President's Men". EDIT Fletcher Prouty! I knew I would remember it, just had to let the first cup of coffee kick in!

Even though they are both films about historical events, I feel that in the spirit of "Those who do not remember history are doomed to relive it" these are both films with warnings.

JFK was taken from two books; Jim Garrison's "On The Trail Of The Assassins" and Jim Marrs' "Crossfire; The Plot That Killed Kennedy". Jim Marrs is also said to be a member here, but do not know for certain.

In JFK many names are given, one that comes to mind is Kellogg, Brown and Root, a subsidiary of Halliburton, it is mentioned in the context of the huge Government contracts it was given to dredge Komron(sp?) bay in Viet Nam. This should have been a warning and prevented the no bid contracts that Halliburton has been awarded in the Mid East under the Cheney administration, and the cleanup
of New Orleans after Katrina. Instead it seems as though it was used as a roadmap for politicians to lead them to huge campaign contributions.

All The Presidents Men on the other hand should have been a warning as to what depths politicians were becoming prepared to sink to in order to secure re-election, and the heights they would soon scale to keep information secret. If you make a comparison between what Nixon was run out of office for and what Dubya pulled off while in office, Nixon comes off as a choirboy.

Star Wars.

Palpatine: In order to ensure our security and continuing stability, the Republic will be reorganized into the first Galactic Empire, for a safe and secure society
Padme: So this is how liberty dies... with thunderous applause.

Really, the entire story is of a conspiracy to create a false flag event, (using the Trade Federation) causing a war between two "sides" controlled by a small elite group. That war allows for fear, that leads to hate, that leads to suffering. This allows for that elite group to play on that fear and offer security to the masses, and so the Republic becomes an Empire, so that those that are afraid can control the environment around them. This is accomplished with control over the most powerful weapons. But sadly the only power government has to offer to it's own people is to exchange their freedom for security as that is the only way to really make them safe, but they cheer this on with 'thunderous applause."

Oh, I posted Jurassic Park because of the dangers of annoying child actors but ok, guess that works too.

WFRR.....that's all about the dangers of blending our world with Toon Land. One minute an anvil on the head is hilarious, the next it's landing on you and there's no comedy effects, just a quick yet painful death.
