Oh come on man! No offence but that is not real metal. Check out my previous post if you really wanna have your socks blown off lol. Something about that wailing blond chick just sends shivers down my spine. That's one thing that black metal excels at. I find that new-school wannabe thrash like this loses alot of the heaviness by trying to play fast. Just listen to Meshuggah's Lethargica or Rational Gaze to see that you do not need to play fast to be heavy as a.....really heavy thing.........lol. Sorry for the SYL joke, I had to lol.

I hate to sound disheartened, but I was raised as a devout christian, now incredibly disenchanted. Why is it that all the good people are incarcerated or killed, while the demons run amok? If there really is a God that loves and cherishes us, than why would he allow this? Freewill or no freewill, if there is truth to our plight as described in the bible, than why do the good suffer, while the evil among us excel in whatever they do. Those who take are given things while those who work for everything are shoved under-foot and shown the door (figuratively speaking). Is this just a test? I'm starting to lean towards the realization that the Morning Star has won and God has just forsaken us. Some words of wisdom would be much appreciated, as I am running out of reasons to keep caring. If this is one big test, I'm failing.

It's not meant to be taken seriously. Also, look at the symbolism, apart from the obvious. Look beyond the obvious. If you look at some of their older videos, too, you will see that they have gone from what I call the "standard" black metal look to this new look, which I think is even more disturbing than the whole corpse-paint fad. I realize that symbolism may not be your forte, but try. Also, Cannibal Corpse consists of some of the nicest people I have ever met. The boys in Dimmu Borgir (from Poland btw the land of black metal) are true-blue devil-worshippers though. Not the kind of people you want to meet in a dark alley. Cannibal Corpse is a bunch of p ssies compared to these guys.Also, if I may add, did you even listen to the song all the way through (no offense but it had to be said) as whenever that blond chick wails, it buries the needle on the creep-o-meter. When it comes to sheer creepiness, Dimmu Borgir takes the cake. Cannibal Corpse just tries to come up with a million ways to say "I will kill you," On the other hand, black metal is pretty much rooted in satanism/Thelemism. (Behemoth even named one of their albums Thelema.6)

Oh dude, look I'll come clean, I was being sarcastic, I thought you were too, I've met Dimmu Borgir and they're just a bunch of guys that drink beer and don't take themselves too seriously, the whole Satanic music thing is a big joke, please don't be buying it.

Lots of people will always think and say that Black Sabbath are devil worshipers and thats just not true at all...

And so obviously they were not devil worshipers,but the people who accuse them of being so,are probably the ones who are worshiping the devil...

Okay, so maybe Dimmu Borgir wasn't the best example in that context(never met them. Met Behemoth once, pretty solid dudes). There are quite a few black metal bands, though (especially from the Netherlands and Poland) that actually practice what they preach. Church burnings, murders, suicide, you name it, they do it. Hell, the singer of Gorgoroth actually blew his brains out with a shotgun and then his band-mates proceeded with making necklaces out of the skull fragments, which they now wear 24-7. I met their drummer once and he showed me his. That conversation did not last very long needless to say lol. I don't really take any of the messages of these bands seriously, as I probably would not listen to most of them if I did, but some of the subject matter and symbology that they promote kinda bothers me sometimes (and I am a diehard metalhead). I can honestly say though, that the first time I saw that Dimmu vid, I was like "F ck yeah!", but then I looked closer, and was a bit creeped out. I was only trying to show these guys what a satanic message really looks like lol.

Seriously? Some of you need to really chill out. It's music. Unless it has been proven to make kids become Satan's children, your arguments are all for not. There's really nothing behind it all. Just people singing about Satan in one form or another.

I have actually heard from the mouth of Tony Iommi himself that they only latched on to the whole dark image when they found out that it sold records. Before Ozzy joined, they were just a blues quartet. Same goes for all of those god-awful hair metal bands (and most early thrash bands) that used pentagrams and such to promote themselves. Alot of people are attracted to things that shock them. That's why Marilyn Manson was so popular in the late-90s (Oh yea, and guess what, he isn't a satanist either, just found that the shock-factor sells records, just like Black Sabbath).

Well I guess that sort of depends, do you consider us in the USA who pay taxes to effectively allow our government to bomb and murder hundreds of thousands of innocents around the globe to be righteous god-fearing folk? We all can sit here and talk about this being "real" or "not real" but the bottom line is that there is right and wrong in the world and which side are we truly on??

Then the next logical question from that is if we are on the wrong side how did we get here and what is keeping us here in this "wrong" position?

Music is music sure, but you do not see a correlation between this type of music stated by the OP and a change in the general populations willingness to go along with these same said agendas? If not go along by force or because it is the norm, but simply because some really don't know the difference anymore between right and wrong?

IDK I feel like I am babbling, and I want this whole theory to be total BS like no other, believe me!!

I believe the Bible wholeheartedly and unashamedly. I used to be deeply involved in witchcraft, I have seen so many supernatural things with my own physical eyes, I could fill an entire forum. I have seen the kingdom of darkness in action, and have encountered many demons. God revealed himself to me in an incredible way, and I gave him my life. I don't care what anyone says; there is power in God's Word. There is a heaven and a hell, angels and demons, and an entire supernatural realm at work in the world around us. Through the power of the Word, I have exorcised many, many demons (they would not leave if there were no power) So, there is no reason to patronize someone because their beliefs are not the same as yours. A person with an experience is never at the mercy of a person with an argument.

Thanks, man. Very hard to find positivity in such a negative world sometimes. Seems like all there is in the world is negativity sometimes. I have to admit, the more I look at it though, the more I see life as a test of will. There are so many deceivers and corrupters, but for some, the path shines through them all. Some people say that path leads to god, some to their inner self. To me, it does not matter what you believe, so long as you believe in something. Personally, deep down, I believe that heaven and hell are all around us, and we experience that which we are meant to. People tend to put physical connotations to things of this nature, which, I believe, the primary source of deception in this world. People are so focused on the physical, that they refuse to even consider the untangible forces that guide nature and man collectively. I mean, just look at the many forms and facets of nature. They all ebb and flow collectively, as if by design. To say that this is all random is far from the truth, in my eyes. I believe there is some sort of force within all things that is the catalyst, if you will, for everything, and I don't mind calling that God. Don't you dare call me a christian though lol. Spirituality, in my opinion, is essential, but religion is just man's corrupted rendition of it:"Worship me or you'll burn in a lake of fire!"
Gotta love catholics eh? I walked in on a sermon one day and the priest was in the middle of saying "Thou shalt not masturbate!" Upon hearing that I quickly wheeled my butt out of there lol. (sorry I had to lol)

There's a whole subdivision of metal called black metal centered around Satanism, magic, witchcraft and the occult. Naturally I expected to come in here and see those sorts of songs in the OP. Jay-Z and Kanye West? Really? That's the best you can do when there's entire bands dedicated to these subjects?

I fail to see why musicians can't use the mythology of Christianity as material for their lyrics.

By the way music has referenced mythology pretty much forever, Christian mythology is about two thousand years old now and some of its ideas stretch back farther into Judaism.

How far back do you want me to go, shall we call Bobby Vee part of this "conspiracy"
