Oh sure, you can find Politicians from both sides talking around their mistakes. But can anyone actually remember one saying…

“I screwed up and for that I apologize.”

I can’t find one.

The previous Prime Minister of Australia apologised, however on behalf of the country to the Aboriginals.

Sometimes i wish he were still in power, but...you see, us Aussies were screwed over as he was at the sharp end of a political Coup, where our current Prime Minister came to power without an Australian vote.

I dont really count it as a real apology. You cant say sorry and then still do the same crap.

The illusion is that its about the politicans.
It wouldnt matter what particular person was in power if they were doing their actual job and being a voice for the population.
But they are just puppets, so dont worry about the face of your dictatorship; look into its heart.

Thanks and I agree.... but to me, they still sound like they are tap dancing.

Actually Nixons sounds the most authentic, mannerisms and such.

There was a Japanese Politician who apologized. Personally, I wish more of them would the same way.

George Bush taking responsibility for failures during Katrina, does that count? It looked honest to me, but I might be a sucker.

Many on your list apologized for those who preceded them and the apology was actually more of a political posture. Not heartfelt.

And most of them took place well after the fact.

There are a couple of good examples though of people owning up to their own mistakes.

Thanks.
