I think the whole idea of god leaving messages in the bible is completely insane. First of all i dont believe god is real but there are other threads for that. Plus people have the same kind of codes in Moby Dick

Was Moby Dick written by god too???

I just finished reading the book The Bible code. I believe there is a code in the bible. From the evidence in the book it looks true. The thing is the bible code odds were tested at much higher than books like Moby Dick and they have some things that would be very complex to be just a coincidence.

still a man checked the book Moby Dick and found codes relating to the murders of many world leaders including JFK. And they were just as detailed. I think you could find these codes just a detialed and great in any large book, as you can in the bible

BTW this is such the exorcist child

It doesn't matter what it is.....

If you look hard enough, and want to believe so much that it is true, you'll find it.

Just like people equating '666' with everything from computer programs to credit card numbers.

I personaly do not think that the bible has a hiden code, I think the people that came up with that were just like the people who came up with all the coincidences of september eleventh, they just thought of things that have no purposful relations to one another.

yer i have heard of this, and i want to read the book about it. sounds like it will be interesting

i found this thread on the subject www.abovetopsecret.com... which is about the bible code

gazrok makes a good point about it, hope you dont mind me quoting this gazrok

Gazrok However, with the constant revisions and rewritings, and additions, subtractions, and downright false additions to the Bible...it's rather silly to believe that even if there was a code (and it's highly unlikely), it wouldn't make any sense now. It'd be like writing an encoded book, then selectively going through it, and tearing out pages, then stuffing other unrelated pages into it, and expecting a code to still be intact....

that is the way am looking at it now, still..its interesting

if in doubt... 23.

all is said now I must return to mongo.

Have to agree with nathraq, If you become obsessed about something in particular, you link all you come into contact with that. is anything shown in bible code in near future that could test the plausablility of such a code? (bare in mind that Bible Code2 is out... does this mean that all is not correct in bible code1? if so, will this be incorrect till bible code 23?.. who knows..

deny ignorance... I WANT PROOF!

big up yo status

The bible was put together by many people through a span of centuries then was revised and added and who knows what else they did, no code will survive something like that.

If a code was hidden it have been lost many centuries ago.

Well, Jesus talked in parables which were little riddles not easily understood at first glance by most people.

Then there is the book of Revelations, also not terribly clear. It was obviously included for a reason. I just cannot believe though that God would try to conceal things in secret code. That is an entirely different matter altogether.

If you want to know about something PRAY, it certainly always works for me. There is only one trick to it, you have to ask the right questions and have the right motives.

If you take any book ever written, there will be all sorts of messages "hidden" in the text. That is complete rubbish. Moby Dick is a story about a Whale, and the human condition.

Do you really think Herman Melville spent hours trying to figure out how to fit "JF Kennedy" or "Killer comet 2004" diagonally into the text of Moby Dick ?

It may well be there, who knows, but it is a random accident, not a deliberately hidden code of any sort placed there by Mr Melville.

Hehehe, my numberplate when read backwards might contain next week's winning lottery numbers.

from a purely practical POV the " bible codes " indeed any text codes is entirely arbitrary based on the charachters / line selected by the person doing the de coding

Here's an interesting little piece of Flash that tries to explain about the Bible Code and how it fits in with Kabbalah.

www.kabbalah.com...

I believe that it's still a little specualtive. For example, claiming that there is a code because there are a couple of three letter words amongst others, doesn't exactly sell it to me. But it does make you think.

I enjoyed it anyway.

There's some other interesting pieces of Flash to be found on the main site too.

I don't know if any of you saw the program yesterday about bible codes; I can't remember which channel it was on, sorry. But I was impressed by the explanations I heard.

One thing I wanted to bring to focus here is that the Bible code predicts a major earthquake in Los Angeles in 2010. IMO this one bears taking notice, but of course that is because I believe in God and I believe the Bible was supernaturally encoded and meant to be found in our present time.

In addition to the scholars who discussed this on the program I saw this weekend, I did find a video about this earthquake prediction if anyone cares to watch:

Edit to add: this isn't "breaking" news, it's an article from July 2009.

Scientists have detected a spike in underground rumblings on a section of California's San Andreas Fault that produced a magnitude-7.8 earthquake in 1857.

What these mysterious vibrations say about future earthquakes is far from certain. But some think the deep tremors suggest underground stress may be building up faster than expected and may indicate an increased risk of a major temblor.

If there are codes hidden in the bible it must have been created by the secret societies.

I have an open mind on this one...
...the Isaiah cluster has very impressive statistical analysis that is very hard to explain if it is only random coincidence...
...huge series of codes intersecting on the Messiah passage...
...and the Ten Commandment cluster is almost as impressive.

The best source is Bible Code Digest...
www.biblecodedigest.com...

Genuine analysis of the codes remains an open question for me.

Greetings SmokeyTheBear,
Firstly, I think your name is fantastic. Secondly, I do not want to argue with anyone on this boards. I have not come here to argue, just repeat a few things.
The understanding given to me of the meaning of a code for the bible is this. If for some reason you feel a need come upon you or within you to, not just read, but truly and achingly want and need to understand the bible; and then become aware that this need is directing your entire body, as from an entirely different and larger sense of self. You have the beginnings to the true Bible code.
Peace.

Documentary on Bible Codes and how it has predicted Napoleon, Hitler, etc.

I was thinking about posting a topic like this the other day, looks like I got beat to the punch : p

It's a interesting topic though. I know it was a big deal back in the late 90's during the lead up to the whole Y2K thing.

Bible Code Digest is a good site to check out that has Bible codes by topics.

The only real code in the Bible I'm aware of is the astrological signs being the twelve disciples, Jesus being the Sun (Light of the World, will return in the sky, turned water into wine), and the very real reference to our last supper, not a literal one taking place in the Bible. It says something along the lines of "follow the water-bearer into his house" somewhere in Luke. An age of the zodiac is also referred to as a 'House' and the water-bearer is Aquarias. The so-called all knowing Bible Code is a little sketchy since it can't seem to get history right, but neither can Moby Dick.

I've been away from home the past several days, but just wanted to point out that just a couple of days before this Haiti quake, I posted this info. and premonition.

If any of you are looking for a new Guru, I do have a paypal account.

Seriously though, That program came on and I could not get the thought of a powerful quake taking place soon, and I will go one further to state that one just as bad is going to strike another region very soon.
