Strange Loud Sounds Sheffield England 2-15-2012

Well this is a new sound and it's not a half bad recording either. Sounds like a valid recording without a dub in, but then again I am not an expert.

The only problem I have is the fact that they did not record the sound longer than 41 seconds.

Is anyone in the Sheffield area? I know we have lots of UK ATSer's here.

These clips were recorded earlier today. This morning I was playing
on the xbox when I heard a very low pitch sound, it was very loud,
enough to hear over my headphones at full volume. The whole house was shaking and I thought the windows where going to smash. It seemed to be
comming out of nowhere. I was alone in the house and was abit
freaked, but had to record it. I know it sounds abit like a jet of some
kind but this was more low pitched and about 10 times louder than
the normal ones. It lasted about 6 minutes. And it came in pulses of
different pitches and frequencies. If you have any questions please

I am from Huddersfield, a few miles north of Sheffield (about 20?) and didn't hear anything.

I think this is a hoax, if you play it back and listen to the background there is a bird tweeting, exactly like in the mexico + kiev videos.

Hm. Maybe its just me but if I watch this video I get the impression that he just filmed around. Maybe later he got the idea and just overlayed the sound.

That's what I thought maybe a hoax and with all the people from the UK, I thought we could call him out on it, if that's truly the case here.

A sound that loud you would have heard it too. I do think some of these sounds are real, but some people have to much time on their hands, and don't think of the overall implications of pranks.

Anyone else from that area?

I'm in rotherham not too far from Sheffield I don't hear anything today HOWEVER I did post a while back regarding a sort of buzzing sound. Similar to ear ringing maybe bout 5 month back was very clear infact someone stopped me outside the off licence to ask me if I could hear it too....

I'm about an hour and a half drive from Sheffield and did not hear a single thing

I'm from Sheffield and didn't hear anything either.

The thing about sheffield, it has a lot of steelworks and heavy industry (granted though, not as much as it used to)

On the topic of other videos that have been posted before with the louder sounds, I've always thought they sounded like steel/metals being processed or moved about. I used to work in a place that used to grind solid stainless steel bars and if they were even slighlty bent, they used to make some awful metallic screaching noises. also moving and handling them causes those sounds too..

I live about ten miles away from Sheffield (between Barnsley and Rotherham) and no I didn't hear anything this morning. In the video it sounded like it was recorded in a forest/jungle with the amount of birds tweeting in the background..Unless he has an avery near by.. I'll keep my ears open though..

This is what I love about ATS, if we need a confirmation somewhere in the world we can get it almost instantly.

I was also wondering about the birds too, but then I saw the birds flying away in the video. And if a sound like that actually occurred, one would think the birds in the area would react.

Im in East yorkshire on the coast (Miles away from Sheffield!!) Have'nt heard owt round here.
Definately good that we can all quickly either confirm or not around Yorkshire, if owt ever happens.

around 3pmish i heard loud rumbling noises, I too was playing on the XBOX. I didnt look out side thou as i presumed it was local building work.

I heard a blackbird and a sparrow in this video the deeper sounding Caw was perhaps a crow so they are native and fit the scene. I didn't hear birds that didn't fit.

Why is it so amplified? the microphone gain sounds really high, higher than AGC in phone would allow.
Its like the sound came from a 1989 VHS video recorder.

The next person that hears this noise please go and knock on some random doors and record strangers reacting to this sound, it would make it slightly more believable.

Maybe it shot by someone that has been away on holiday, came back seen the hoaxes and wanted to cash in and recorded his own.

I live about an hour away from Sheffield near S#horpe and I have never heard any noises, wish I did tho, I feel left out

If I heard a noise that shook my house, I would be outside talking to neighbors, quicker than a jack-rabbit.
