I'm attempting to make a map of the current allied powers in what might become "WW3". I've colored the Russia/China/Iran "side" red, and the US/Israel/Europe "side" yellow. This indicates that the colored country is either a willing ally, or has the sufficient infrastructure of or proximity to a nation on that "side" for it to be considered on one side or the other of the "war front" in that area (for instance, Afghanistan being under yellow control not because of their love for Americans, but because of the American military infrastructure there). Orange states are the ones who have multiple alliances and/or aren't very predictable (to my knowledge) or who don't have much infrastructure or alliances with one side or the other to date.

Link because it doesn't look like it's embedding it for me....

As you can see, there are key states left blank because I don't personally know enough about their current state of diplomatic affairs and/or occupation by one side's military, so this is where your help is needed. Please suggest colors for the blank states, and corrections for the ones you think I've gotten wrong. Links to ATS threads and/or external resources backing up your color assignments are greatly appreciated. Also, if you think there should be a third or more "primary alliance colors" (eg: red, yellow and blue), let me know why and I'll change it.

This is a response to all of the discussion lately of who would be on which side, and it's a whole lot easier to visualize the situation with a map of where all of these conflicts are taking place. I'll continue to update the map as suggestions are generally agreed upon (won't be able to change this one, but will post the new ATS Uploads link/image in subsequent posts).

Sigh.....like I said, it's not necessarily because a nation loves us, or will contribute anything, it's about proximity to a nation on that "side" or existing military infrastructure. Mexico is not falling to the Russians or anyone else. They will let our troops right through the border if their invasion by the other side is threatened. Therefore, they're yellow.

I think one thing you may have to factor in is Islamic hatred of Israel. I am not sure that if Israel leads a charge, that any Arab or Islamic nation will side with any nations aligned with them. I could be wrong but that's how I see it.

Also, Sudan would be firmly on the Red team. Georgia is an Ally of the West, and the Baltic States, Ukraine and Belarus would probably be neutral at best. You should really add a colour in for neutral.

I think orange is underrepresented. At least half of the yellow countries will be unpredictable. Half of those are waiting for America to fall as it is.

Your map should show a 'legend' of what colors mean what. It's a good start but needs some graphic work.

Also you might want to check out the Shanghai Cooperation Organization

en.wikipedia.org...

Those nation swho are member will most assuredly be 'siding' with each other in a conflict.

VS

All the Nato Countries www.nato.int...

But it's not guaranteed as some have protection clauses with others that conflict with NATO or Shanghai alliances.

That should give you a benchmark.

Absolutely, the hate is a huge factor. That's part of the debate that I'm talking about----is Saudi Arabia with "us" or "them" if everyone goes to war? Big question, hopefully expounded upon here.

The problem with a neutral color is that although they may be ambivalent, when it all breaks out there will be occupations and lines of supply and whatnot, and I'm trying to see if those countries would be more likely to fall to one side or the other. There aren't really any neutral countries when they're on a war front, you know?

Why is Tasmania not coloured?

They are a state of Australia and have one of the lowest per-captia populations of Muslims in the world.
They also have more military infastructure then you'd think... And only east timor would be on our side, the other half would switch to the red first chance they get.

Can you point out which ones and your reason(s) why they're unpredictable? I'm open to all suggestions!

Absolutely, I already changed that---I just missed it in my initial sweep of the area.

Thanks!

Georgia (next to Russia) will NO DOUBT be on the side of America. They look for every opportunity to kick Russia in the shins. Paint them whatever color you're painting Americans.

And do a color legend LOL.

Russia's Biggest trading partners.

wiki.answers.com...

China's trading partners:

en.wikipedia.org...

IRAN's trading (errr umm) Partners:

en.wikipedia.org...

All of these have to be considered. A nation won't attack another nation if it's in it's top 3 of trade partners or business interests....usually.

i pray that know one contributes, its up to the soldiers to say no, why don't we let the confused human hybrids fight the fight, or at least put them in the front line. See if they want to go to war then.
