This is awesome to say the least. You know the saying "The bigger they are, the harder they fall." Lets hope this get's very public. With a case this big Monsanto will go in with both guns blazin'. I hope those 300 001 did their homework. I'd love to see Monsanto put down for good.

I have to leave in a few minutes for a historical society meeting so I won't be digging up the links this morning.

However I just wanted to say that this seems like it has not been a good couple of weeks for Monsanto. Last week there was a thread about how the employees at Monsanto had complained about Frankenfoods in their cafeteria so Monsanto pulled them.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

The next day there was another thread about Europe starting an investigation so Monsanto had pulled some of their serial GMOs out of Europe.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Okay, I had more time than I thought...

Hooray, for Monsanto loosing a few, let's hope they can keep this losing spree up before every plant on the planet "belongs" to them through cross pollination.

i don´t have any knowledge in building websites.

Use Wordpress, it pretty much walks you through it and once you are up all other Wordpress users will see your posts. I liked it, but have no time anymore.

Thanks for posting this!

I will definitely be keeping an eye on this story, as I am an organic gardener with plans to eventually be an organic farmer.

My main distaste is how genetic modification has become the norm rather than the exception. Most produce available in markets is modified for size or whatever, but also to be sterile. Ridiculous. Modification for increased yield or size is one thing, but to actually change the genetic code of a plant or fruit is moving into entirely new territory.

I actually worked in a plant genetics lab at one point, and participated in genetic studies on the plants/fruit. The mutations that were present in some of the offspring were just mind-boggling. Totally uninterested in putting that stuff in my or my family's bodies if at all possible.

Anyway, this is extremely interesting to me.

It is unfortunate that the Occupy movement seems preoccupied with destroying Capitalism and corporations in general and I don't trust their motives. They are interested in bringing socialism and direct democracy to the US. I do not want to see Monsanto succeed in poisoning and controlling the food supply, but there needs to be a balance here.

I don't know if the occupy movement is involved in this. I think its all smaller businesses that run organic farms, suing Monsanto for if not monopolizing, endangering their organic crops. The can't get their"organic stamp" if Monsanto crops cross contaminate the organic farms.

I own 2 very small companies and we struggle. Im all for capitalism, just not monopolizing an entire market with a less superior product.

Oh He!! yeah...

When 300K people get together for anything -- it's a movement.

Monsanto cannot pretend to be HELPING anyone but themselves in their attempts to pick off the weak farmer and move onto to the next.

... if they can't keep their Seeds or Genes out of other farmer's crops -- they should not ONLY be forgoing the lawsuits for theft of their IP -- they should be paying a penalty to the organic farmers because it's obvious that genes can be spread to other plants which could actually be causing economic DAMAGE to the Organic Farmers.

What about the fact that past CEO's of monsanto are now heading stuff like the FDA, and EPA. Why don't we just have the accountant write the checks??

Sounds like Monsanto gets to own the regulators like Goldman Sacks gets to own the Fed.

What a great racket -- you not only get to sell the disease, you sell the cure, and then you investigate yourself if there is a problem that makes it through the press.

Monsanto harassing and threatening organic farmers with lawsuits of “patent infringement” if any organic farmer ends up with any trace amount of GM seeds on their organic farmland.

Strange... I would be ticked if the GM product was in fact some way tainting my organic product in my fields.

All my organic fertilizers and holistic soil preparation, plus the licenses and organic certification means nothing if my product is tainted. Not to mention the time I spent....

No, not a farmer... just thinking about what if I was....

These 300,000 citizens are like David fighting a monstrous Goliath. What they do have on their side is TRUTH, and the truth shall set us all free.

Don't forget that Monsanto recently acquired XE formerly known as Blackwater. So they have an army of trained assassins.

300,000 people is probably enough to march on Monsanto and burn it down. Even with the XE henchmen and assassins.

Isn't it funny that we don't get information about something as huge as this on the news? Well, it's news worthy in my opinion...

Good for those farmers. I hope they crush Monsanto, but we all know they won't.

Monsanto's top execs and lawyers should be slowly lowered into a pot of boiling oil stopped right above knees to make sure you get a good crisp, then lower to slightly above belly button

Hopefully they face some damages with this lawsuit, but monsanto is too big at the moment to be really hurt. We need to eliminate all 'Santo's former employees from civil jobs and cut their bribes (campaign donations).

I don't know if anyone already brought this up, but I just read this. Granted, it's Yahoo news, but it's still great that Monsanto is being brought up internationally. And as the article states, hopefully this could have "global implications."

No this is something different.

There's a thread on the topic you brought up as well.

Just search for: Monsanto, France, chemical poisoning and it should come up.

Monsanto is getting it.

We also need ro raise awareness for occupy monsanto glovally in septembre this year.

At the very head of this hydra is the ruling that allows "life" to be patented.

Monsanto "owns" life...in the form of the manipulation of a cell's DNA. Therefore
if you have in your possession the progeny of Monsanto's patented
life, you are either a thief, or a customer.

How could we have gotten to the point in our greed that we can allow
companies to patent life? Are we afraid that bio-research would come to a halt
if we don't allow companies to profit from gene manipulation by patenting their
very own forms of life?

This is a big moral question, and one of many we will be facing in the very near future
with cloned organs and stem cell therapies---and cloned pets and eventually an ability
to genetically select and alter traits within our offspring to the point where our offspring's
intelligence, physical strength, stature, and other desirable physical traits will be
selectable, patentable and profitable.

And the argument I hear most often when I relate my vision of the future...

"...It'll never happen. God will come back and stop us before we get that far."

I hope he's not on lunch break...

What you said, it will do nothing because the system is designed so you can break the rules and still be out of harms.

The game is Rigged.

I can name 100000000 events where you can see that the game we are playing, Life, is rigged towars a 'elite' group.

Nobody does anything.

And if you try to do something, you are called heretic just like the witches were back in the medieval ages.

I think the only way we can move forward is to do a witch hunt. And destroy/kill all the elites, family down to the root. Or teach our childrens so they teach 'em childrens to do so.

Humanity is doomed we have been warned yet we dont move. The countdown sure is coming to an end yet we didnt even start to speak. We are almost six feet under yet we didnt even start to think what we were going to say before taking action and when we remembered what to do we got shutdown by an unstoppable external force. Yet what will you do to help your future and your legacy?
