I am deeply saddened by this news but not very surprised. Her life appeared to be down spiraling for some time. I hope her family can cope with this tragedy. So many unanswered questions that need answering here. I am a little older then Whitney and have followed her career since she came onto the stage.

She will be remembered.

Thanks for sharing. She had such an amazing voice. =(

Oh no! I heard she was 48 years old and died in a hotel room. With as many fans she has touched with her music she could have lived at least 20 more years to finish her life out.

Let this be a reminder that life is short and life is shorter for some.
We could go at any time.
When our lives flash before our eyes before death, what will be shown.

RIP We will always love you Whitney.

She should have laid the crack pipe down.

Seriously this is her own damn fault. I've always respected her as a musician, I thought she was a terrible actor, but man, crack is one hell of a drug ain't it Whitney?

RIP

Heard that she was broke!!

I can NEVER understand how some people who are paid SO VERY WELL throughout their career somehow become BROKE at the end. HOW do you mismanage money THAT POORLY? HOW??

There are TONS of people in this country who live an ENTIRE LIFETIME with .00000001 percent of the money she makes yet they manage to get by.

Its mind-boggling!!!!!!!

Celebrity "broke" is in no way like OUR kinda broke....

When we are broke, we can't pay utilities, cell phone bill, or rent... when celebrities are 'broke', they can't afford their $100k daily spending limit.

Woah there, Sparky. You do realize that even though one is a 'junkie' as you oh so eloquently put it, that person is still a human being. Now, I didn't much care for Whitney Houston - she was an amazing talent, hell of a voice, but her music never really appealed to me. But she's a human being whose died too young. She was an addict, but that doesn't make her any less deserving of life than you or the bleeding Virgin Mother or new born baby Jesus.

When I first was learning of Michael Jackson's death real-time on CNN ("cardiac arrest") it just waylaid me. I wallowed in sadness. After that, it's been one after another, Those superstars of "my day". ("My day" was the late 1970's-to-1980's). (Late teens-to 20's) Tina Marie, Don Cornelius,...... I feel so old and grey.

Back in 1993, I went and saw the movie 'The Bodyguard' with a man, an intriguing exciting fling who was 'unavailable'. (Oh I'm not proud of that, and regret it) (Saving All My Love For You!) Whitney Houston applying to such crux moments in my young adult life.

A lot of times I wonder if I'll be one of those people who is 103, and --everyone-- I knew, whether close person, or faraway personage,.... is gone.
