ninemsn is one of the major news networks in Australia and while i have little time for MSM i see no reason why they would lie over a story like this its not like they are failing to cover anything of import, its the little stories like this that keep people thinking the MSM is honest reporting

I didn't say they were lying.....It's just poorly written.I was hoping they'd say what happened with the other case!

Let me get this straight......

If I hate someone and see their cellphone sitting on a table in McDonalds.....I could steal it.....put Child Porn on it.....then turn myself into Police for stealing the phone (misdemeanor)....and the guy I hate would get a Felony conviction?

This story makes no sense.......how could anything be taken as evidence....coming from a THIEF who stole it from someone else????

What idiocy. You really think someone is gunna get charged with a crime and go to jail, just go make you a deviant?

Bollocks.

I guess the perp shoulda just formatted the drive and kept the new toy.

Finding kiddie porn on it, he should have just shhhhhhhh hes stealing wabbits.

bloody hell..

Kudos on the crook for being a decent bloke underneath his crap needs.

I bet it was because he needed drugs... yay the war on drugs, where cops rape the wimmin, but crooks turn in perverts.

this thread = why humans suck.

Glad to see you took the mature route and replied like an adult......

Look, this is ATS. You can't expect everyone to agree with you all the time, here or anywhere else...

If you do, you are in for a big shock... People will disagree with your ideas. People will challenge them. People will question them. That's a simple fact, if you can't handle that, you really wont last long on ATS.

Yes, I disagreed with your theory that this criminal was hired to break into some ones house in hopes of finding child porn. Yes, I challenged and questioned your theory...

But really, you have to learn to back up your statements and beliefs to those who WILL question them. You state you are here to open minds. Good. You and me both. Part of opening minds involves opening yours even further though...

Questioning not only other people, but also yourself. Challenging your own beliefs and truly examining both sides of any debate.

Fact is, I challenged your theory and you ran off with your tail tucked between your legs...

No, I don't think it is even remotely plausible that they hired some one to break into a persons house in hopes of finding child porn.

I presented my reasons why... So if you are here to "open minds" well then come on! Open my mind! Enlighten me here! Don't just take the lazy route and post a rolling eye emoticon....

You really lost a lot of respect from me.

You have a theory and either can't or don't know how to back it up with your own words... So you just roll your eyes?

I even say you seem like a really nice person and extend my proverbial hand in friendship and you roll your eyes....

So how about this, I challenged your statements about what you really thought was going on. You are here to enlighten people and open minds... Open my mind.

Make me a believer in your theory... Or don't and leave... No skin off my back either way...

But expect that people will ALWAYS challenge your beliefs here...

This is what I was thinking. It reminds me of how some people hide pornography in torrent files or on usenet. The person downloading wants to get music, or a movie, or even something entirely legal through a torrent service, and little do they know, it has child porn buried in the files.

Who do you think would get arrested in this scenario?

That is so unrealistic.... If you really think that some one will put themselves in jail in order to frame some one...Come on... That is beyond silly.

The thief was arrested and the pervert who owned the phone was arrested.

You're ignoring a lot of variables in this scenario. It's not "unrealistic". The reality is the original owner of the phone no longer had access to their phone. Gone. Whatever happens to it after that is out of his or her control. It doesn't necessarily have to be the supposed "thief" that puts the content on the phone.

I've heard of cases like that happening. After investigating the person was let go after it was found out to be a complete accident.

Really, what happened here was a guy stole a phone, found child porn on it and decided to turn himself in because it was the right thing to do, to get a pedophile off the streets.

This is not a case of some one else putting it on the guys phone... The owner put child porn on his phone. The thief found it.

No, you are ignoring common sense. It IS unrealistic. The reality is that the child porn was on the phone before it was stolen. This is why the thief FOUND it on the phone. The owner was charged with possession of child porn for a reason.

Is it possible for you to lose your phone and some one finds it, puts child porn on it and turns them selves in as a thief in order to pull a prank? Sure... But it would be stupid and unrealistic.

Would YOU put yourself in jail for theft just to mess with some ones phone and inconvenience the owner that you don't even know? See? It makes no sense to do. It is unrealistic.

Thief steals phone. Thief finds owners child porn. Thief turns himself in, in order to report pedophile and get him off the streets. That's what happened and that is what is realistic.

Your variables go against the story and the charges. This is not a scenario, the facts have been laid out for us. So these variables you are trying to throw in, really don't fit.

Chips, Buddy... There was child porn on the phone.

Magistrate Michelle Hodgson said the man needed to be congratulated after his actions led to a 46-year-old man being charged with child pornography offences.

The thief was charged for his crimes and the phone owner, for theirs.

Quick, take back the nelson laugh before anyone notices!

Yeah, ' nonces' are considered the scum of the earth in prison, even more so that murderers, that fact really makes you realise how abhorrant paedophilia is.
Theres a point of law (if thats the right word) that annoys me though, it when people stick up for the online paedophile by saying he (or she) having actually interfered with a child, theyve just watched it, well, if it wasnt for these scumbags theyd be no market for it.
I cannot find any sympathy for someone who considers a child a sexual object, and i am the most liberal and forgiving person you couljd imagine.

That said, I am not surprised in a way... I mean, even people in prison consider pedophiles the lowest of the low.

I completely agree. Yeah, I have seen people before standing up for the creeps ( Keep in mind T&C keeps me from calling them what I want) who just watch child porn. In my mind there is no standing up for them.

As you say, if it weren't for them, there would be no one to market that filth to. If it weren't for them, maybe there would not be some loser who decides to film himself raping a child in order to sell it to other pedophiles.

If it weren't for them, perhaps the amount of children harmed would be quite a bit smaller.

Yes, child rape would still happen..But it is a disgusting fact that there is an entire underground market for children and child porn. Children who are kidnapped and sold into sexual slavery so that this crap can continue to exist. Child porn really does have victims...It also opens the door for more victims....

I have no sympathy for pedophiles either. No sympathy for anyone that can hurt a woman or child, in any way.

So I do agree completely with you.

Yeah, even prisoners have a moral code. People who hurt children are at the bottom of the barrel. Worthless garbage. And this is murderers who feel this way! That should really tell you something.

Anyway, I am going to bow out of this thread. I've really said all I can say, so there is no sense in me rambling on any further.

To SoymilkAlaska The offer still stands, you are welcome to U2U me. Well, to be fair, anyone and everyone is. But just the same....
Peace and love.

Unrealistic? The more brilliant it is. The "thief" could have been just some scumbag that was paid off to frame that guy. It's a possibility.

IMO it's illegal evidence and should be ignored.

I would agree with you Horatio, but it seems there are three problems with your idea, allow me to begin,

One- Your profile picture has a head with dead fish in it.

Two- This is child porn and quite frankly the most disgusting thing on our planet, they should be rounded up and shot and once dead shot again, do you hear me Jason. Once dead even in the afterlife i would hunt them down again like the dogs they are and repeat this process. Until infinitys end.

Three- The wind is changing direction

Four- Ive lost my hat

Never mind i have since found my hat, a thank you

Decades ago, I had a job that included performing repairs inside the prisons. On one visit I was working with a trustee in the women's prison that was allowed access to the kitchen.

This young and cute girl walked into the main cafeteria, and the entire building fell silent, and when I looked around the corner to see what was going on, I saw everyone had stood up and turned their backs to the girl. EVERYONE. Even the guards. Not a peep from anyone, they all shunned her.

So I had to ask the trustee what was going on. She says "the girl is scum, she threw her baby into the driveway and backed over her several times to kill her. There are people that need killing - I killed my husband because he needed it, but no child deserves to die. She won't last too much longer here".

I was more than a bit nervous, but then again, I learned something that day.

Yes there are morals even among murderers, so I fully believe this story.
