President Obama's state of the union was quickly followed by a second one in Afghanistan. President Karzai finally convened the newly-elected parliament with a Kennedyesque "Ask not what Afghanistan can do for you, ask what you can do for Afghanistan." He had been resisting American pressure to open parliament for months, preferring to rule by presidential decree. His capitulation marks a big success for the Obama administration.

Yet the administration's enthusiasm for checks-and-balances stops at the Afghan border. When President Obama dropped a word about Afghanistan in his own address, he spoke as if Congress were merely a passive bystander. He repeated his early decision to begin withdrawal this coming July, but failed even to mention that the troops' final departure would be delayed until 2014, and that Vice President Biden has suggested that we would be continuing to provide support, of an unspecified kind, long afterwards – all without involving Congress .

Yep.

If this is not true, where are the Iranian news sources denying the enrichment allegations? Where are the Iranian news sources denying underground nuclear facilities? Better yet, where are the statements by Ahmedinejad or the Supreme Leader denying this?

That's right, you guessed it, there are none. Because Iran is like a child with something to hide.

the Iraq Resolution or the Iraq War Resolution (formally the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 [1], Pub.L. 107-243, 116 Stat. 1498, enacted October 16, 2002, H.J.Res. 114) is a joint resolution (i.e., a law) passed by the United States Congress in October 2002 as Public Law No: 107-243, authorizing the Iraq War.

Robert Fisk: We've been here before – and it suits Israel that we never forget 'Nuclear Iran'

"The Israeli President warns us now that Iran is on the cusp of producing a nuclear weapon. Heaven preserve us. Yet we reporters do not mention that Shimon Peres, as Israeli Prime Minister, said exactly the same thing in 1996. That was 16 years ago. And we do not recall that the current Israeli PM, Benjamin Netanyahu, said in 1992 that Iran would have a nuclear bomb by 1999. That would be 13 years ago. Same old story."

yeah so when does it end, what if there is 1 terrorist?

do we stay, invade neighboring countries like in Nam?

Congress said have war in the middle east forever or until you get tired of it?

NO
invade, no WMDs, no terrorists LEAVE

that was the plan. not perpetual war for free...

it's not a golden ticket. They have not asked for any powers they have taken it upon executive privilege to decide what they share based on national security...FROM CONGRESS!!!

they might share Intel with the enemy????

If someone is accusing you of enriching uranium to 20%, or accusing you of having hidden facilities? would you not deny it? On the contrary, this has been reported on by Saudi Arabia

english.alarabiya.net...

Iran is believed to be expanding uranium enrichment activity deep inside a mountain, diplomatic sources said on Monday, a move likely to add to tension with Western powers that suspect Tehran is seeking nuclear weapons capability, as the U.S. and eight other countries were staging a major amphibious exercise, fighting an Iran-like fictional enemy.

Iran last month confirmed it had begun refining uranium to a fissile concentration of 20 percent at Fordow, shifting its highest-grade enrichment from an above-ground location to better protect it against any strikes by Israel or the United States.

Your brain is bunk. You're so in denial that it's getting sad.

I think we're done here.

That was the plan? I think you're wrong on that one. Did you even READ THE RESOLUTIONS? I'm assuming not, as you don't read anything that's handed to you and remain in LALA land.

The Authorization for Use of Military Force [1] is a joint resolution passed by the United States Congress on September 14, 2001, authorizing the use of United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the attacks on September 11, 2001. The authorization granted the President the authority to use all "necessary and appropriate force" against those whom he determined "planned, authorized, committed or aided" the September 11th attacks, or who harbored said persons or groups. The AUMF was signed by President George W. Bush on September 18, 2001.

"oh but congress is innocent!" They gave him a TICKET TO WAR.

If they didn't know that what was going on was LEGAL because of WHAT THEY SIGNED, then they would IMPEACH the president. Comprende, esse?

When the article appears on Farsnews, which is run by the Revolutionary Guards who answer directly to the Ayatollah, do you really think they are going to post something the Ayatollah never said?

Farnews is official as far as Iran goes, since you know, they own it.

If the MSM carried it, people would only continue their claims of western propaganda. OI course some people already are making that claim while apparently doing their best to ignore the Farsnews article.

reply to post by Xcathdra

Please explain how this is fake. Is the Farsnews a front for the CIA or Mossad? Did members of the IRG go bonkers and decide to attribute words to their Supreme Leader that he never said?

Please, by all means, show us how Farsnews, which is owned by the IRG who answer directly to the Ayatollah, is posting false information.

Also if you type in farsnews.ir it takes you to the farsnews.com with no redirect. Or are you suggesting Turkey somehoe conrols Farsnews and is a front for some alphabet agency?

From the WND article

Reza Kahlili is a pseudonym for a former CIA operative in Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and author of the award-winning book, “A Time to Betray.” He is a senior fellow with EMPact America and teaches at the U.S. Department of Defense’s Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy.

Reza Kahlili is the author of the article.

FARS may very well be a link to the CIA/Mossad/MI6 cartel.

FARS "ownership" is not clear, but they seem to be American from whois.
The hosting is in Turkey.

The U.S. and Turkey are NATO members.

The "quotes" from the Iranian leaders don't seem to be confirmed either.

The article could be a "Hollywood" style production.

This may be a "training" mission for internet watchers who look for threatening material.

All I ever replied to was the fact you said 20% enrichment is incapable of creating weapons...in which I provided scientific sources to the contrary. You carried on the argument from there instead of simply admitting you were wrong and it can be done....

OK fair enough....but that is speculation.

There is NO proof that Iran has done this for weapons, just that they could. Not even worth mentioning unless you are going to show me a nuke or a weapon. They do have a navy and a reactors which is the reason they would use it as they say and EVERYONE ACCEPTED. That says nothing but implies...like always,....implies ....but says nothing.

Show me where they said we are using this for a nuke. Why hide this when they have hidden nothing. They have defied everyone why not think they would for this too. They are already under sanction and being bothered by our intelligence services, why hide it....?

answer please in the form of speculation please facts not necessary. please find the most bias representation of Islam you can and say this is them...that will do ...you don't even have to find quotes of people saying them. The fact they exists is enough to make you an expert about their intent.

Okay but if this was for peaceful purposes why would they be worried about their facilities being bombed? They wouldn't have to worry if they would allow inspections to verify their productions are for peaceful purposes only.

It's not difficult to do. With everyone accusing them of trying to obtain nuclear weapons, wouldn't the best thing for them to do be to prove it?

I'm not threatened by Iran at all, nor did I say they are the antichrist. In fact if I recall correctly I told you earlier I don't think the US should be involved with this, and that this is a problem between Israel an Iran.

It's 3:30 here and I'm getting to bed. Later.

And yeah you have a case. Either side does. It depends on how you look at it.
