Israel has a habit of denying damning accusations even when confronted with evidence that contradicts their version of events. You can label this "another Israel bashing thread" if you want but I'm sick of their crimes. This should not be a taboo subject and should be discussed.

Witnesses, video challenge Israeli army account of Nabi Saleh shooting

In Nabi Saleh on Friday a French citizen–in the village for her first time–was struck in the back of the head by a high-velocity teargas canister fired by an Israeli soldier. The woman was part of a small group of activists that were walking down the main road out of the village, which was being closed off by a group of soldiers.

Although some youth from the village had been previously throwing stones from the hilltop above, the activists were unarmed and merely chanting slogans. When the group was approximately 25 to 30 meters away, the soldiers immediately began firing teargas canisters and rubber bullets directly at the people without warning. The group of around fourteen people turned to run and the girl was hit in the back of the head/neck area and dropped to the ground. A few of the others stopped to pick her up and a number of them were hit by rubber bullets.

A video shot by Bilal Tamimi, a resident of the village who was standing next to the soldiers, shows the entire incident. The teargas canister clearly ricochets off the girls head in mid-flight.

In response to the incident, Major Peter Lerner of the Israeli military began tweeting that "IDF soldiers on site" reported that she was hit from behind by Palestinian youths throwing stones. The video and eyewitnesses, including myself, can testify that this is false. There were no Palestinian youth standing behind the girl and she was struck after she turned to run from soldiers firing their weapons directly at unarmed activists. After witnesses and video refuted Major Lerner’s baseless assertion, he altered his story and tweeted that the Israeli military will investigate a teargas canister that ricocheted "off the ground."

They tried to blame it on the Palestinians!

Any word on Sarkozy denouncing this yet? Of course not, Israel owns him too.

It is only bashing if you do not agree with the truth.
More and more are waking up to the terrorist state we call israel.

I wonder if the Israeli government realizes just how much they are becoming more and more isolated in the international community due to such incidents.

For that matter, I wonder if they truly do care at all.

Queue Christian republicans to defend Israel by saying those activists shouldn't have been in the soldiers way.

I'm surprised they haven't shown up yet. They learned their lesson after trying to blame Rachel Corrie on Hamas, even the pro radical Zionists won't touch threads like these. If they did, it would leave them no choice to admit Israel as the apartheid state that it is.

BTW that's a great thread you authored with important videos, I recommend everyone to visit the thread and give it a star flag and bump. The people of Palestine have suffered long enough, we should all show solidarity.

Sure. She was hit by gas canister fired by Israeli soldier and not a rock. Video clearly shows it.
It also shows some things that are not mentioned. Up the hill there people who throw rocks and use slings. Not "earlier" but during the filming. The road that these unarmed activists are blocking leads up, probably to that hill so the soldiers fired the tear gas to clear the road and let the jeep pass through. The guy who films the video is not chased away because he is not blocking the road leading to the hill.
I saw no firing of rubber bullets at the people who blocked the road, but at those on the hill. And nobody can aim with tear gas canister to hit someone's head.
