Australian police said the mob smashed into the embassy in a diplomatic precinct of Canberra, the capital, on Saturday night, causing extensive damage to the ground floor of the two-story building.

I am surprised this happened in Australia. The people responsible for the attacks are terrorists in my opinion. I was glad that Russia and China vetoed the UN backed 'Arab plan'. We all know that the UN and NATO cannot be trusted.

I think its a terrible thing that people are resorting to terrorism in the west. There are better ways to protest.

Text Ali said there were two embassy employees in the building at the time, but they were neither harmed nor threatened. Ten Network television news reported that they hid in the basement.

Why should employees of the embassy have to hide in the basement fearing for their safety?

You should make the difference between a terrorist and a mob of protesters.

I am surprised the mobs did NOT stormed more embassyes.

Tbh, Russia and China are supporters of civil war...because this is now INEVITABLE after their veto.

I am 100% againts Assad and his regime, but i am not 100% pro-rebels, the armed ones.Syria is NOT a democratic country, where someone in power WILL step down when the situation becomes dangerous.I am also not sure if there are 6,000 or 7,000 deaths since the UPRISING began, but i think there are over 3,000.
If this is not ENOUGH for Assad to step down, i don't know what could forcing him to step down.

Imagine an uprising in Europe or US or Australia, with ONLY 100 deaths.Anyone will step down JUST TO MAKE THE KILLING STOP.

But no, not Assad, and not anyone supported by Russia and China.

MSM calls them protesters lol.. If British embassy was attacked, it would either be a terrorist attack, fanatics, or it would be called a riot.

Yeah, their masters have been interfering and bring down governments for as along as they've existed. It's as if they believe they have a divine right to arrange the world how they want it.

Your thread title is totally misleading. Even the article says, "Protesters" not "Terrorist"

I am sorry that you view these protesters as terrorist. I don't. I think they are exactly what they are being called, protesters.

Why u think Any country want your democracy?

US and EU are for civil war,as they caused dosens of them in last 25-30 years. Russia wasnt in war since Afghanistan,US is in war with someone ALL the time. Apperently because of democracy, but we all know it is to regain power over the world.Where is democracy in Afghanistan,Iraq,Lybia,Egipt...???The same democracy they want in Syria, and Iran and North Korea. But why am i trying to explaine this to u,when i see u are one of those that support that "democracy"....

We just disagree on what is terrorism.

And like another poster said,if it was the embassy of an ally the papers would call it terrorism.

So - when Egyptians stormed Israeli embassy , they were terrorists too or is it double standarts much?
Iranians who stromed US embassy - terrorists? Oh dear, what it makes Ahmadinejad who was among them...
Just to get things strait - i consider embassy attacks a no go since it is clearly a breach of international agreements. Terrorism though... Nope. Political pressure, tops.

I wonder if the poor staff in the basement that were fearing their saftey agree wth you.

We are fast approaching the time when we will need a clear definition of what terrorism is.

Seems that what is terror to some is not terror to others.

Yeah because China and Russia can be trusted. If the Arab league is backing the plan then China and Russia have no business veto'ing it unless of course it will hurt their own business interests

Terrorists? Are you sure?
I say this because this card has been overplayed may times before and what normally follows is a shift in mind set where the global populations opinion of fellow man is changed.

Do you see what i am getting at here?
Its like breaking a window and blaming an enemy so they take the consequences. But on a much larger scale of course.
Little fish keep swimming all in the same direction. I dont believe for what minute that these events and others are not being orchestrated by a certain group of individuals simply to continue profitting.

People who did this (and peple who organised) had no intentions of terrorizing/scaring the staff, Syrian people or even Assad himself. I also fail to notice reports of those people trying to get to those Syrian officials in the basement. So it was not the purpose nor it was the tool.
As opposed to doing something with the intent to terrorise/scare people or by using fear tactics/terror - which is the clearest definition of terror you can find.

What do they hope to achieve if not scare the people at the embassy?

Is protesting no longer an option?

yourself.

China and Russia are the only two countries that seem to be against war mongering.

Putin was shocked by the images of Gaddafi being killed. In contrast Hillary Clinton laughed and made a joke. I would trust China and Russia before I trusted the psycho leaders of the west.

What I see is that people in the west that have a political problem seem to be getting closer to considering and using violence to vent their frustration. I think people have given up on peaceful protest.
