There may be as many as 16 million women on the Chinese mainland who are married to homosexual men, a leading expert has estimated. Professor Zhang Bei-chuan at Qingdao University, an authority on AIDS and HIV, says that due to traditional family values in China, about 90 percent of homosexual men get married because of pressure to conform. "But their wives are struggling to cope and their plight should be recognized," he said on Thursday. Xiao Yao, a 29-year-old magazine editor in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, divorced her gay husband in 2008. "Most gay men's wives I've known are silently suffering at the hands of husbands who could never love them, and like me, some even got abused by husbands who were also under great pressure," she said.

This does not sound like a bad arrangement!
As a lover of male genitalia myself, I can firmly testify that if I lived with a female and not a boy then my closet wouldnt be constantly raided and all my clothes stolen >

I really think you are never going to find your outlet here. When you mention "boy" I can only think that NAMBLA is your home.
And if that's the case...get a life.
Peace

What the hell are you talking about?
Grow up you sick weirdo.
Apologies if it was taken wrong but when I seen this, it reads as you are gay and living with a boy:
"As a lover of male genitalia myself, I can firmly testify that if I lived with a female and not a boy then my closet wouldnt be constantly raided and all my clothes stolen."
In fact that is exactly how it reads and although I have no problem with gay people the other is truly repugnant of course. Again, if I was mistaken and judging by your response I was, my apologies. Truly. Jude11

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I found this very interesting and sad. It's depressing to think about all the women who's husbands will never love them and all the men who feel the need to hide their sexuality. Homophobia is terrible.

In China, where tradition reigns, homosexuality is no longer taboo. What is the view from those living in the country?
China has a history of being tolerant to homosexuality. Confucianism doesn’t condemn homosexuality as some religions do. Homosexuality has been documented in China since ancient times. In the Song dynasty it was considered fashionable for both men and women. Several emperors reportedly kept male consorts. Homosexuality was common enough in the 19th century for a English emissary to remark that “many of the first officers of the state seemed to make no hesitation in publicly avowing it.” In the 20th century the renowned scholar Kang Youwei proposed same sex marriages.
