What's up with all these homophobic threads recently? I thought ATS was republican proof.

homophobia serves 2 purposes:

1. self-loathing (oh look at me, i'm not gay, i'm lucky 9/10 haha)

My personal feeling about gayness, is I have NO problem with it, until they try to take over the world. this goes for all "groups", people, organizations, agendas.

Guys, we dont want to turn everyone gay! We are not out there to bring about the end of humanity! We just want to be able to love who we want to love, and not be hated for it! I would enjoy to be able to kiss my boyfriend in public without having some random person start ranting about flaunting my sexuality. It doesn't hurt anyone. Even if you get a STD from casual sex with a guy in a GAY club, it happens in hetero relationships too. In fact, the only people that homosexuality hurts is the homophobes who can't get the "Icky Icky gay people" off of there mind.

I find that gay people are just as likely to ignore the facts as anyone else.

To just wave your hand as in "talk to the hand" in the face of knowledge, is typical, but its SO gay...

I've taken anatomy and physiology classes, human and animal alike. We had learned that the brain chemistry(or makeup) of homosexuals is different from straight people.

Hmm, what attributes to 'deviated' brain chemistry?: stress-ors(mother very stressed during the term) during the fetal stages, chemicals such as BPA, and much more.

There are sources on the net that talk heavily of the brain changes and more.

Not to say that homosexuality is wrong, but it is NOT a choice for some.

I have no problem with:
Heterosexuals, Homosexuals, Bisexuals, multi amorous etc.
I can even understand them all, at least I think that is the case.
They have something that attracts them to other people, and just follow that.

It is a perfect demonstration of the mindset, and hypocrisy that exists, still in American society. Not only in The United States, of course....don't read me wrongly.

So because females are sex objects they can makeout in public... maybe even have lesbian sex in public? What somone said females are house cleaners and dishwashers... so im offended to see them outside the house at a job working?

Its a shame some people are too stupid to look at somehting from more than just their ignorant and bigoted angle. Maybe if they crawled out of their trailer for some social interaction with the real world instead of the circle ego stroking in their churches we wouldnt have so many social problems.

When I was younger, there was a gay guy that hung in our group.
I seen him doing his thing now and then..I thought it was sort of gross...might as well be kissing a fish...and wondered how he could be attracted to guys when there was soo many hot to trot girls in our group.

If there are emotions of longing stirred up in someone post-pubescent and sexually curious, then guess what...they are probably gay anyhow and just going through the motions of being straight. Gonna come out eventually anyhow.

Security in sexual preference is the most important thing for development into adulthood..know who you are. blocking out a desire does not make the desire go away...it will just make you feel totally fake inside.
In saying that, realizing a desire does not mean persue it...I desire to be with a different woman every night sometimes, that does not mean I should persue it as that is unhealthy. what is needed is a healthy expression of who you are in your core.

I disagree with your statement that the only reason homosexuality was ever considered wrong to begin with because of the Bible, as there are many non religious people who are asking REAL questions about the long term effects of, AND promotion of, homosexuality.

Because the motto of today is "Do As Thy Wilt" If you can understand the roots of this statement, you will be in for a load of understanding as to why there is so much division about gayness.

All too often these honest people who really would rather live and let live, and have valid questions--yet are labeled as bigots.These people are you neighbors, and it makes sence to listen to their viewpoint. Many are feeling like there is something very wrong going in our society regarding homosexuality.

It has seemingly left the relm of Religion, and entered the relm of Social Engineering, ( is there a difference in the status quo?) and we should be cautious of the implications and effects of this (or any) behavior that involves your rights and Government involvement.
