I will say it again: I have no issue with Ms. Degeneres' sexuality. But these people apparently do, and it is as much their right to protest this appointment as it was supporters of the California fiasco's right to protest against the Mormon church's activities. Fair is fair.

you're preaching to the choir Redneck - no could have saved yourself some writing :-)

but I get that you have something to say - and you're choosing here and now to say it

not sure why you're even so involved in this thread - but I applaud most of what you're saying

I am loving this Gazillionmommiesagainstpeepswejustdon'tlike group - I had never even heard of them before today

I love that they have the freedom to write their letters, post their posts, march on national department store and makes their demands - this is still America - yay!

but what I love most is that JCPenny came back with a resounding: tough

your fight is not with me Redneck

I was mostly just trying to be funny :-)

Which is the way things should be. Enough of the PC crap. It is a wonder that some people are able to get out of bed in the morning if some are so sensitive.

Some people don't like Muslims
Some people don't like Homosexuals
Some people don't like Christians
Some people don't like Caucasiansa

Hey, most people try to hide it, but humanity really doesn't like each other very much.

She has the right to be gay, and the moms have the right to disagree with her being hired, and protest it.

There are lots of JC Pennys customers of different viewpoints. Who are these moms to try and speak for all of us by getting rid of Ellen DeGeneres?

Are there? I honestly don't know. But let me ask you this:

From your post, I am assuming you are both a JC Penney shopper and gay (and if I am mistaken, please accept my apology and pretend to be both for the purposes of this question). Now, as such, are you going to stop shopping at JC Penney because of this protest? I am going to make a leap here and assume your answer is "no".

That means that this protest will not affect your portion of support for JC Penney. That in turn lessens the influence this protest has on JC Penney. As a matter of fact, I seriously doubt JC Penney will even notice any revenue loss from the protests, especially amid the anticipated revenue gain from their new spokesperson.

So nothing will change. Why get all upset about it? The Million Women will finally come out looking like fools because they made a silly claim in their protest. If you ignore them as irrelevant, you will look like the sensible participant in this debacle. If you protest them protesting, you will wind up looking just as silly as they do.

Which look will make people accept you more easily?

This is the entire point I was trying to make. There is a point beyond which complaining and protesting does more harm than good. But, considering this statement:

We won't be quiet and we won't give up until things are changed.
you will have plenty of time to learn that lesson in life.

I grew up Christian. I spent 60 years searching for god - - resulting in Atheism. It is lack of what I found - - rather then what I found. Hatred of God and church because of how you were treated - - or how you perceived you were treated - - is not the right reason to turn against it IMO.

Most gays I've known were Christian.

There is more then just God belief - - IMO when it comes to Fundamental Christians. There's ignorance - fear - control - anger - etc.

I read it :-)

that all you got?

she's calling out the Christians behind all this bigotry

she is NOT criticizing or condemning all Christians

sometimes we see what we want to see - don't we?

but she's the bigot!
I can prove her hypocrisy from 2 threads where she changes the rules she wants us to adhere to, which is to simply submit to her personal ideals or be called names and labeled as haters and affiliated with hate groups, when that's all she does is hate on others she disagrees with.
I find that in every thread she posts in it gets derailed from her doing this.
Never is the topic addressed in a fair dialogue with her but instead it becomes an exercize in transference and projection.

These moms have a right to protest against a company that once espoused their ideals and values and seemingly threw them aside for a commercial agenda that reeks of social engineering at the expense of the family ideals they adhere to. Annie took this exact stance against a company that sold CHICKEN. sO FOR HER TO AFFILIATE THEM WITH THE KKK MAKES HER A FULL BLOWN SENSATIONALIST WITH hypocritical views that are changed at will with her every whim as long as she can sell her form of hate. I shouldn't be too hard on her though as it most likely is genetic.
I am sure she was born this way and she has no choice in the matter

Could it be possible that you need correcting??
How arrogant.
I think he/she is more right than you.
Homosexuality is an experimental behaviour and i call a homo man and woman as 'closeted' hetero man and woman respectively.

Nope. Not gay -- just an activist trying to raise awareness. I don't think there's anything silly about that. I don't think Martin Luther King Jr. was silly either.

NO. Been following and researching homosexuality for 20+ years.

How arrogant.

Arrogant? Hmm - - - for accepting people as God made them. Supporting their Birth Right for Equality.

It is not a behavior. It is a birth orientation.

All it took was seeing your username to know all I need to know about you to know where you are coming from. I agree with the article and frankly find the entire Liberated Lesbian Man Hater Thing to be a bit silly since beyond sex and children that women have to offer there is basically nothing men don't do better...it's one of God's little jokes and as Solomon said; One in the thousand good men I have found and no good women. After a man has had his children and they are off into the world, a man is best maintaining relationships with women on a strictly employer-employee basis; mercenary creatures that they are, paying as you go and paying well will get the best of women for their sex and whatever company a man might desire. This comes from a man who has been married to 4 gorgeous women with a child with each and now at 58, it is wonderful being free to spend my time and money on more productive and lasting interests and as I said, a man with means can always have whatever he wants from you mercenary creature...you included my dear because one thing is absolutely for sure, all women have their price, while men (most men) are not the same.

Homosexuality is an attraction, not a behavior. A man being attracted to a man is homosexuality - attraction, not a behavior.

That is where you are wrong. There is no scientific proof showing that you were born gay. God did not make you a homosexual.

Unless you believe in something other than Yahweh , the Christian God. If you do , whatever floats your boat.

One million ??? really??? I doubt it. I really don't think that there are a million homophobic moms out there who would bother AND if there was a crowd of a million in this country, the news would be carrying it a whole bunch.

Gotta' call BS on the story.

Yep!

And more and more businesses are now doing exactly what JC Penney is doing.

But when Chick-fil-A was protested and boycotted by the gays - - - these type moms sang a different tune.

They seem to want it one way.

This is SO off-topic for this thread. I will be happy to debate you on this subject if you want to start another thread... but I will ignore it for now.

Are you trying to scare me with your what??? 20 years exp.
Get this right, it doesn't matter how longer you run, you have to run in the right direction.
And if you believe in the God of your Bible, you should believe what he says about this matter...no..

So the world is darn near on the precipice of World War III over the Iran/Israel nuclear showdown, and a bunch of suburban soccer moms are up in arms over Ellen DeGeneres?

Who gives a #. Seriously. Gay marriage/gay rights and abortion are the 2 most inconsequential issues of our times and politicians have used both to divide the masses and everyone still falls for it!

I don't care what ANYONE does in the privacy of their own home as long as it does not affect me or anyone's agenda is forced on me. Isn't that (the pursuit of happiness) the fundamental principal of why the US was founded?

Maybe if the gays and the anti gays would unite over things that really matter, we could take our country back from the corporations, banking interests, and military industrial complex that has hijacked our country.

no, scientificly you are wrong with zero support that you are born that way.
There is more proof that sociopaths are born sociopaths than there is for being born homosexual.
I will grant you that environmental poisoning can be proven to be a big cause for the increase in homosexual activity AND it can be passed on for a generation or 2 from the mother who is affected by the onslaught of the contaminants in food and water in todays world.
But no, there is nothing for you from a scintific study showing you are born gay.
It's intellectually dishonest to claim this from ONLY an anecdotal perspective and claim it as fact.
There is now a thread started on this so go post in that thread and allow your ass to be handed to you.But...welll, but, they might be racist and belong to the kkk and ..etc...
