Iran successfully launches new satellite into orbit !!

From everything we keep hearing in the M$M, you would assume those Iranians are all backward and fanatical !

Even with their scientists being bumped off lately, they seem to have actually launched a successful space mission !! (this is not their first !)

The Iran Space Agency said the observation satellite is designed to take hi-res pictures of the globe.

I wonder what the first pictures will be ? ..... Israel maybe

The Islamic Republic of Iran has successfully launched its domestically-built Navid-e Elm-o Sanat satellite into orbit following a decree by Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The satellite, completely designed and built by Iranian experts, blasted into orbit early Friday on the third day of the 10-Day Dawn celebrations, marking the 33th anniversary of the victory of Iran's Islamic Revolution in 1979.

What? ... no foreign contractors ? ... Oh Oh !

Navid-e Elm-o Sanat is a telecom, measurement and scientific satellite whose records could be used in a wide range of fields.

Iran launched its first domestically-produced satellite, Omid (hope), into orbit in 2009.

The Omid data-processing satellite was designed to orbit the Earth 15 times every 24 hours and transmit data via two frequency bands and eight antennas to an Iranian space station.

Iran is one of the 24 founding members of the United Nations' Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, which was set up in 1959.

This just in.... American sources are saying they lost control of a test missile that later on hit the newly launched Iranian satellite hurdling flaming debris on top of 4 top iranian nuclear physicists homes. All feared dead.

But really, this is a smart move considering all the worlds GPS systems are American owned. Russia, China and Iran have been setting their own GPS systems up over the years. FTW.

Hi-Res photos of earth only tells me they are looking to pinpoint every target they can for their weapons systems prior to firing all at the same time. Hard to believe they would even let that go to the news personally, especially with all the talk of war.

You got that right. They're probably going to be taking hi-res spy pictures of all the countries and finding out what their best bet is in attacking the world.

They're tired of being the underdog, and they're working extra hard to climb the ladder, even if they have to blow everyone else off of it first!

With all the assassination attempts and successes lately. I wonder, instead of actual nuclear devices that were attempting to be prevented from being built. Could it be that this satellite was the real reason and what they did not want to see launched, and not necessarily a nuclear device?

Could very well be.

Especially since Iran is not using "outside" contractors.

I think as a civilian i to will invest and seek investors into launching my private network within the decade. This is good news for me, as the u.s. has a huge invoice for such a project, the russians are far cheaper and offer 40% return if a catastrophic failure occurs. As for the rest, i simply do not trust them.

Two things..

1.) Can people still deny Iran has missile/rocket technology that can [ if used for that purpose] threaten other countries at great distances?

2.) I wonder how long it will be before their new satellite fails due to unknown "Mysterious" circumstances?
