Ok, in just a few minutes CBS will out with an excuse on the National Guard memo's.

CBS and Dan Rather have been caught using false information in a national news cast and a national news show.

Should CBS be Fined like ABC was for the Super bowl boob shot?

Should CBS news be removed from broadcasting, lets say for 30 days for this error.

Should Dan Rather be removed or banned by the FCC for this?

Should CBS fire Dan Rather

What is your thoughts on how CBS will be penalized by the FCC for MEMOSCAM 04

If Dan truly was involved in a lie of this magnitude, he should be fired immediately! CBS should be fined far more severely than ABC was for the Nipplegate incident at the Superbowl. You aren't dealing with a flash of saggy boob hre. You are minipulating the minds of millions of Americans. WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!

I put it on the other thread as well.

Court Reverses Ruling on Jane Akre's rBGH Suit

Feb. 21, 2003

Accepting a defense rejected by three other Florida state judges on at least six separate motions, a Florida appeals court has reversed the $425,000 jury verdict in favor of journalist Jane Akre who charged she was pressured by Fox Television management and lawyers to air what she knew and documented to be false information.

In a six-page written decision released February 14, the court essentially ruled the journalist never stated a valid whistle- blower claim because, they ruled, it is technically not against any law, rule, or regulation to deliberately lie or distort the news on a television broadcast.

If the Florida Courts say it's okay to lie when presenting the news then I guess it's okay to lie. Aside from 'perjury' what law does state that it is not okay to lie?

There may not be a law on the books saying it is illegal to lie, but it is morally and ethically wrong. If CBS wants to retain any credibility they will fire Rather immediately. They should not affiliate themselves with someone who knowlingly spreads falsehoods in the name of "news".

Just my 2 cents!
