At about 3 am this morning I was sitting with my dogs and I got to thinking. If this asscension happens, what will happen to our pets and all the other animals on the planet?

Will they follow our path?

Do they have their own path?

Anyone out there with any knowledge on this subject?

Thanks.

You are just as natural as everything else here and born of the same process and susceptible to the same forces, so if there is an ascension, then it will happen everywhere. Unless we evolve individually, which the fossil records show is not the case.

I won't claim to have 'knowledge' on this subject because in my opinion it is up to each individual to figure out what they believe in. But if Ascension does happen, and having a pretty good idea on what mankind is capable of, I'd say only animals will ascend anyway!

No one has concrete knowledge on the subject.

However, I believe that pets are behind us in the evolutionary process, which means they have yet to reach where we are right now. So when you are in the next world, they will be in this one, as the same physical being you are right now.

The only time anyone "ascends" is when they die.

Not sure it will matter at all if our pets are with us then.

Ascension (evolution) doesn't just happen to one. Everything progresses towards higher intelligence and practicality. Its not that we will become aliens, dogs will become human, and bugs will become dogs. The whole thing is going to change. Its happened before and it will happen again. We move away from survival and closer to peace.

Just look at dinosaurs. That primitive design was equipped for war, with spikes on their backs and large teeth. They had all kinds of survival mechanisms. But survival isn't the main thing here. Sure we want to live forever, but perhpas survival instincts and regeneration by consumption isn't the only way.

Then you have our generation of life forms. We are a little less brutal looking, but some of the brutal looking ones are still with us with only slight changes in appearance. It is a gradual change, and some aren't always ready. But the ones at the top of the food chain use their brain much more effectively to survive than their brawn which was something that just didn't exist back in the prehistoric days.

So what might be next? I can only speculate, but I see a gradual move away from hardcore survival mechanisms to something more subtle and more intelligent. And perhaps at some point being able to survive without consumption.

I asked this question of my parents when I was 3. They told me there would be animals in heaven.

In the 53 years since then, I have come to believe that the same thing will happen to them as happens to us. I don't know what that is, but I think it's pretty much nothing.

I usually have to assume that animals are better off spiritually than us. Most of society, I would say, is not "spiritual" or "evolved(in terms of spirituality)".

In my study of Taoism, the effect of being "enlightened" is just going back to your true, natural self. So they say you were in the womb. Care free, at peace, unconditional love. I'd say those are all qualities of ascendance or enlightenment. Those are coincidentally all the qualities my dog has. Same goes for the res of nature.

I don't think it is necessary for nature to have to evolve spiritually. They are already where they need to be. They are at peace, they are natural.

My dog is going to love me if I become an "enlightened master" or if sink into the low levels of a psychopath.

Our animals are already there.

Now that I've had a few responses I will share what I believe. I believe Dogs, and other animals alike, are just as much concious beings as we are. They may not openly communicate in an oral language like us but that does not mean they can't communicate. I personally belive that animals communicate telepathically. It seems to me that any creature who lacks being able to speak would have an easier time learning how to communicate telepathically. My golden Lab that i rescued when she was 2 is my greatest companion. I could spend the rest of her life with her and never have to say a word to her. I communicate with her by looks and find myself understanding what she may be thinking. It's hard to describe and I know it sounds weird but does anyone else have simaler experiences with their dogs.

So along with that I belive that if Asscension were to happen that all creatures would be involved and we would all go together.

Believe what you like. In the end it will not matter. (Sorry thumpers)

Whatever we arrive in will be so completely different than what we expect, it will make all of our little concerns so trivial that you won't even give them another thought.

You're here to experience and be. It's no accident. Your animals are doing the same. Whether or not our destinations are the same shouldn't matter should it? While you're here... just really be...here.

I beg to differ... They communicate in an oral language.

This is my husband coming home from a trip. The dogs say, "Welcome Home"!

I have 2 dogs and experience the same thing as you. I believe they can communicate with me without words, sounds, or actions. People say that dogs (or other animals) are just animals, but I believe differently. I truly believe that they are highly intelligent and can communicate in ways that we as humans don't.

I truly hope and believe that when the end comes, my two dogs will be there with me.

Thats hillarious, My dogs aren't quite that vocal. Mine just bark and whine a little. That just shows how intelligent they reallly are. Awsome dogs by the way. must be an entertaining place to live.

I once read something interesting that made me go "hmmmmmm".

Imagine if the afterlife is as some think, an existance of pure love. You never want or need for anything, and love each and every soul that inhabits the afterworld with you completely and unconditionally. Think about this.

It wouldnt matter if you were with your pets, your spouse, your children or anyone else. You will love the complete stranger that you never met once on the earthly plane every bit as much as you loved your pets or spouse. While it may be nice to see them once in a while, your love is absolutely without condition and someone you never met means just as much to you as someone you spent your entire life with.

I do not believe in "ascension" on this earthly plane. I believe we must die to experience our true selves.

i believe so. if the animal believes in you, they will follow you. if not, then maybe they have their own path. i live with two cats and one of them shows me love while the other fears me. i show both of them an equal amount of love but the one is just so scared and i can't figure out why. i think she has a huge ego. she won't let me pet her, runs away anytime i'm near her, and cries whenever i do hold her. i can see the fear in her eye, but i have hope that she will figure life out.

I really doubt humans will be 'evolving' into higher beings anytime soon.
However, considering what we know about critters ...
I'd say THEY have a much better chance of evolving into higher forms than we humans do.
